This reminds me of a thread I started on JJHuddle that got deleted and had me remprimanded. QB's in the super bowl many, many years ago complained about the SB balls as they dont get to handle them and rub them up much before the games and said they were slippery and harder to throw. By saying "slippery balls" in the title got me in trouble. Fucking nazi's!
As they were talking about before, the SB they get 100 balls ready. QBs get to work with the right before the game, and that is it. I company I used to work for did business with Wilson in Ada Ohio where they re made. One time when I was there a higher up was saying that the SB had 100 footballs for the game, but also had 100 more guarded at a secret location just in case something happened to the actual game balls whether it be theft, fire, water damage, or whatever.

Aaron Rogers complains about the officials deflating footballs. Says it's common for them to do so.

INteresting.
I know the reason why they went to kicking balls was that the kickers were manipulating the fuck out of them! I expect something to come down on this pretty soon. Under inflating, for me, helped to throw the ball but if it got too low then that sucked.

Refs deflate Rodgers over inflated balls so it's ok. without knowing what procedures are, I don't know what the responsibility of the refs are in this case, but regardless, I would submit to you that illegally tampering with the equipment, whether caught by the refs or not, is still cheating. You seem to be making a case that cheating is only cheating if somebody catches you.

Believe around 90 minute before the game the refs check the balls and approve them. Ref on TV said they cehck the pressure but not usually weight them. One could say they should follow baseball's rules...what happens if a player gets busted with a corked bat or putting stuff on the ball? Ejected.
probably not that easy though as who knows if Brady actually told them do to it....

Players and teams in every sport push the limits all the time to see what they can get away with to find an edge. I just don't get the outrage. Fine them, take away a pick, whatever. Just do it and move on. I wonder how many college and HS teams will start employing this tactic, or NFL teams who now are saying "oh shit, we do this and better stop"

I have never heard of anyone ever weighing a game ball. We check via air pressure to make sure that it is between 12.5 and 13.5. Most teams want it at the lowest end. I've seen game balls lose 1-1.5 lbs of pressure in sub 30 degree weather. Yeah, the weighing of the ball is probably irrelevant and the former ref this morning said they didnt do it. . I watched a sports science not long ago where they took a football into a truck for an hour at 10 degrees. In that hour the ball went from 13.5-11. So it lost about 20% of the air pressure.
Where New England looks bad is 11-12 ball were like this. I would be willing to bet the 1 that wasn't was the kickers ball who would want it as pumped up as possible.

The kickers balls are separate from these and marked specifically with a "K", you might even notice that there are special ball persons wearing a "K" vest. Of course it's O.K. The refs should put the footballs into appropriate levels before the game. The value I saw in the article was that a qb recognized regularly the the ball was different from officials changing the pressure. Was the pressure so different in the first half that brady would have recognized it? weren't some 10 or 11 balls under-inflated?

So there's three possibilities then, right?
1) Refs didn't notice half the game balls were under inflated.
2) Refs did notice but didn't do anything until the Colts brought it up
3) Balls were fine upon inspection but somehow manipulated between then and kickoff.
None of these options seem more likely than the other. I'm not underestimating option #2, though. The league's integrity already took a major shit this year.

Thought I saw this morning that they discovered the deflated balls at half and switched them with regulation balls. Which means the Patriots did better without the deflated balls.

It's obviously not true. People's reaction times are slowed down and their judgment is impaired.
People do tend to slow down speed wise when drunk to try to compensate for being drunk and thus they claim that they drive better. But it is not safer or better.
