I was watching the SF-Dallas game and the announcers briefly mentioned Ray McDonald. Didn't pay attention to their actual words, but they definitely weren't in the "WHY THE HELL IS THIS GUY ALLOWED TO PLAY?!?!?" line. More like being good l'il NFL mouthpieces and just briefly and awkwardly bringing it up in more of a football context.jmog;1652349 wrote:The fact that 2 guys mentioned in that article (1 arrested waiting trial, 1 already found guilty) played this Sunday and NO ONE is talking about it, makes me sick.
According to the rule, both guys should miss 6 games, now but we aren't hearing a word about them.
Goodell is big in the whole "protect the shield" mentality. Seems like the only ones who take that shit seriously are the guys who are paid to report on (or commentate games involving) the NFL. If it wasn't for sites like Deadspin or TMZ, this whole thing could have probably been swept under the rug because I'm thinking "protect the shield" nowadays has more to do with protecting the league's image in the wake of conduct issues, rather than the actual conduct itself.
