I have struggled with my thoughts and decided to go with:

At least we came back in the second half and didn't get smeared.

BUT............. still.................

it hurts.

Hoyer prove me wrong in the 2nd half.
Not alot of pressure on you when you are down 27-3 at half and the other team packs it in for the day the way the Steelers did.

We saw the real Brian Hoyer in the first half when Pittsburgh was interested. The second half was all fools gold.

He's right for the TD after half....and you could argue some points up to 27-17...but after that credit definitely has to be given somewhere because you now have their full attention. The difference might just be that more of the Steelers guys have been successful late compared to the Cleveland guys. I don't know...not trying to throw crap to see but I know how frustrated I was after the winning FG....being on the wrong side is obviously that much worse.

First half was inexcusable to come out that flat. It was like it was the first time these guys have ever seen a football. Had a feeling the no huddle was going to cause the Browns issues.

Second half was better but, to me, a momentum changer was the fake punt Pittsburgh ran. Yes, they ended up punting the ball away anyhow but the field position the Browns would've likely had should've produced points with the roll they were on.

Loved the young RB's ripping off runs. Between the three, they averaged over 6 ypc.

Not disappointed in them not trying the 54 yarder. As mentioned if Cundiff misses, Pittsburgh has it on their own 44. I think I might have tried going for it there though. If you throw an incompletion, it's Pittsburgh's ball on the 37.

Looked like two potential 8-8, run of the mill, teams to me. No playoffs for either of these two.

And as far as Manziel goes, LOL at anyone thinking the outcome is any different with him at the helm.

Hopefully, Pettine notices that Hoyer is a much different QB running the no huddle and uses it earlier in the game.

The Saints are a very beatable team in Cleveland.

You do realize they are going to make swiss cheese of that "defense" we have don't you?

I don't see how we hold them under 35 given how pitiful our pass defense is.

The Steelers offense isn't even good, and the rapist looked like Peyton Manning back there when he was actually trying.

You do realize that New Orleans sucks ass on the road, especially outdoors don't you?

Also keep in mind that NO's defense probably isn't going to stop Cleveland's running game and the Browns might be able to control the clock?

I'm not holding my breath for next week's game unless Gordon plays. The one positive out of that game were our rookie rbs though. They proved in one game why you don't draft a rb in the first round let alone 3rd overall pick.

I think the browns beat the steelers in Cleveland, especially of Gordon is reinstated.

I think they found a RB with that West guy. Dude was a record setting RB in college for a reason and he proved yesterday he can get it done.
Up tempo takes so many things away from a defense and the browns need to go to it more often.
With all the shit that went on it came down to Hoyer messing up that running plaly on 3rd and short. That was the ultimate play of the game in my book.
I knew the browns would put up some points in the second half and make a run. Seen it too often where you et up big, let the foot off the pedel and lose momentun. Having the ball to start the second half in the NFL is so easy as the stadium is partially filled. Browns took advantage of it. Bonehead moves on both sides...BR int was just dumb to throw. Return game...both teams need to know when to kneel it in the end zone.

Personally, I think a big part of the reason LeBeau's zone blitzes are so respected is simply because most teams refuse to change their base offense for anything. When a team moves into an up-tempo offense, Pittsburgh struggles a lot to contain them, but it doesn't seem like many teams do that.

I remember way back, the year where Tommy Maddox replaced Kordell, the Steelers started out 0-2 because both NE (Brady) and Oakland (Gannon) basically ignored the running game and did nothing but fast-paced quick slants and bubble screens. They marched up and down the field, one 5-yard pass at a time and riddled the defense. And then no one else attacked their defense that way again and Pittsburgh wound up making the playoffs at 10-5-1 or something like that and made the second round.

It just seems like the more aggressive and attacking you are against the zone blitz, the better you do, but teams just don't change how they run things to exploit that the vast majority of the time.

3-4 zone blitz packages are more to deceive, confuse and then then take a little longer to develope so when teams like you said..NE/Oak came out and threw early, and often, it was very effective. The blue print to beat the 3/4 is just that...quick passes to not allow the pressure. 4-3 depends more on the DL just simply beating his man where the 3-4 leans a little more on overloading and confusing. When you are a division foe and see it alot it doesnt confuse as much. When you go up tempo the big guys get tired plus you dont allow the Dcoord to dial up some of the pressure packages.

Good Gawd yall the bullshit flying on The Fan today on how great Brian Hoyer was. The man has no mobility at all and cement shoes cost the Browns the game by taking unnecessary sacks....the killer being the last one with under 2 minutes to play. Browns record with Hoyer 0-1. Had Manziel played...1-0. How much longer is Pettine going to risk his job?In today's game, with exception of Manning and Brady, all the successful quarterbacks can move and make plays. Brees, Wilson, Rogers, Kap...the list goes on.Since Pettine is brain dead on this issue, here's hoping Hoyer gets blindsided and sidelined so the Browns fans can start celebrating some wins this year. If not, 4-12 here we come.
