True.
I look at the ERA first because that gives ya a damned good evaluation, and also then the WHIP because those who have a higher whip are closer to just one base hit causing more damage when they allow alot of guys on base.

You have to look deeper with relievers though with the ERA as one bad outing can make it look bad....or even when you give them up. A bad outing or two early on makes your ernie look bad for a long time!
