City: Chicago (East Lakeview)

Pros: Overall it's great. Fantastic location, plenty to do, close to public transportation and just far enough away from the touristy parts of the city. Best walkable neighborhood in the city

Cons: Price. We want a bigger place, but we'd have to pay almost double to really get what we want. Don't have a car now, but we will soon. Traffic and parking sucks.

Pretty much is everywhere rural. I know from living more in N-Central Ohio a lot of the surrounding towns like Marion and Bucyrus are loaded with major-league trash-drug problems. That's why I'm glad I live a bit out of town, but on a major highway. So far, at least, I haven't had to deal with that stuff being an issue, although I heard someone a bit down the road got broken into a few weeks back.

I lived in town for a bit, but decided to change location about a decade ago when the apartment complex I was in changed their designation to the "low-income/gubmint aid" class, because I figured that meant it would become white trash hell. And from what I've heard, that's not so far off.

Off topic but I was going to buy a foam Packers cheesehead and put the word "gubmint" on the side of it and give it to my girlfriend's nieces son (6th kid on the way, barely 21 years old....heavy freeloaders off the government). Everybody got the joke except the kids' mom.

Next year will have a big one and plant more peppers.

Country. I could never live in a major city. I get irritated just driving through Columbus on 71 so I cant imagine having to do it on a daily basis. I love living in the country. No one bothers you. I mean sure it gets old having to drive 20 to 25 miles to the "action" but I can live with that.
