Last weekend some guys were sitting around BSing and everyone knew my story (arrested...but not convicted) because I'd told it a million fkn times (including on the OC). Then out of nowhere somebody else said he'd got one not too long ago and then another guy told about getting one 3 yrs ago. These are guys I play golf with almost every weekend and I was shocked they were acting like church-going hypocrits and hiding something that really isn't that bad as things go.

Almost all you mofos that drink alcohol (and that sounds like a huge percentage of the OC) have driven impaired. Is it OK? Absolutely not and I've tried to curtail it my life...BUT...its also not like you exposed yourself to the neighbors 9 yr old, sell meth at the middle school, shoot pornos in the basement or beat the fuck out of your wife. For a society that revels around tailgating, pub crawls for charities, promotion of alcohol at every major entertainment & sports venue we sure are two-faced with labeling the one-time DUI as a scourge to society.

Been through a field sobriety test. That's as close as I've come. And I was only 20 when it happened. Cop pulled me over for speeding. "Smelled" booze and ask me to step out of the car. Passed everything perfectly fine. Cop said "you're probably over the legal limit for your age(no shit Sherlock), but I'm gonna let you go with just speeding."

My point being Cats - you got off lucky that time, how many other times have you driven impaired (meaning you would have blown over the limit)? Countless right? Yet do you put the scarlet letter on any of your buddies that have actually been arrested? ...I doubt it you always seem fairly practical.

But there sure are alot of other hypocrits on the OC and their time is coming.

I have never had one and to be honest with ya it was just plain luck for quite a long time. Many times it comes down to that....just plain bad, or good, luck.


Our town started to crack down on it quite a bit a number of years ago. Friend of mine did his sobriety test IN HIS DRIVEWAY and got a Dewey. There is one main bar and the exit out of the parking lot it would not be uncommon for boht town cops to sit at each exit across the street late on Fri/Sat nights and just start to follow someone. Pretty easy to find a reason to pull someone over. People really started to catch on and the lot would be packed the next morning with people walking home or getting a diff ride (the farthest end of town from this place would be 1.5 miles).

For the longest time I lived .25 miles away from it and would frequent the place most fri/sat nights and any time I had more than 2 I would just walk home. Some would kinda laugh and joke how I only lived .25 miles away and should just drive and I would be like....how dumb would I look if I got popped only driving 1/4 mile away?

I don't have any friends that have had a DUI.

I hit a pole once after spinning out on ice. Was going a little to fast for the weather but was in a hurry. Sheriff showed up and asked if I had been drinking and told them yes I had three and my six pack was in the passenger floor. He asked If I would do a blood test and I said yea cause I did not think three would be enough to fail the test after drinking them over a 5hr period. Well needless to say it came back at .05 and they charged me cause I have a cdl and the legal limit with it is .04. I was a little upset but paid the money to fight it. Got it down to failure to maintain and never lost my license. Part of the deal to drop it down to that was to attend a weekend drug and alcohol class. It was total bs and they pretty much told us how much of worthless mother fuckers we were for drinking or doing drugs.

Yep, got one at 17 though it was known as a mini-DUI. Senior year, was going to from one party to another on a Friday night, hit a bunch of fog and ended up tagging a cement pillar by a guard rail. Someone nearby must've called the highway patrol

At the time (1999) there was a legal BAC limit for people under 21 and it was .02 (not sure if it's that way anymore)

I ended up with a .028 ...fucking 8 thousandths over the legal limit. Fortunately I was minor so that shit has been sealed since 18

No DUIs here. I have a friend as well as an ex who I was dating at the time get a DUI. Both times they got dropped. I have had one of those nights where I was like "how the hell did I get home" and luckily nothing happened and it scared me enough to make sure I don't do it again.
