Lol Jesus dude you are so butthurt about my comment. Just let it die.Laley23;1631680 wrote:I guess Im confused as to what an upset would be then? I would never say they should win, but predicted an upset based on the Nigerian games I have seen in this tournament. Thought their open play style could expose the French, and it did. Unlucky that France capitalized before them (and it took shit goalkeeping for it to happen).

If I predicted germany to lose to Algeria, and Germany won 2-0, and you said "that was a stupid thing to predict" I would agree with you and move on.Laley23;1631681 wrote:So, I guess Germany over Algeria shouldnt even be watched then...cause Algeria has been the best team of ALL four teams today. Not even close.
EDIT: I agree with your premise. But, thats kinda the point of calling for an upset. Its an extreme longshot...just something you feel in your gut, usually.

This Germany Algeria game, at least in the 2nd half since I turned it on, has been good.

After watching it play out, I wouldnt say that at all. Though, I would think that beforehand, like you with France.SportsAndLady;1631683 wrote:If I predicted germany to lose to Algeria, and Germany won 2-0, and you said "that was a stupid thing to predict" I would agree with you and move on.

Algeria is unlucky not to be up 1-0 after the first 15ish minutes in 1st half. They dominated.lhslep134;1631684 wrote:This Germany Algeria game, at least in the 2nd half since I turned it on, has been good.

I would love an Algeria win here. I have France in the semis. Not that Algeria wouldn't be a harder test, but there might be more individual pressure facing a fellow Euro power.

Algeria pushing the attack for most of the game with Germany having some scoring chances in the final 10 minutes. They are headed to an extra 30 minutes tied at 0-0

Good thing for Germany they have Neur. Not that other GKs wouldnt be out that far to stop semi breakaways, but he has stopped a few. That last one I thought was game over, and he came out of nowhere. Dude has to be standing on the 18 when these Algeria attacks start lol

I like Germany, and have them losing to Brazil in the Semis, but the drama that would ensue if they lose is too much NOT to root for. Ballack will just rip them apart on World Cup Tonight.

It would definitely place a stamp into one of the most cluster fuck tournaments ever. Imagine of Brazil would have lost in pks.Laley23;1631696 wrote:I like Germany, and have them losing to Brazil in the Semis, but the drama that would ensue if they lose is too much NOT to root for. Germany should pack it in, honestly. Algeria has way too much pace to not create a host of chances the last 25 minutes of this game if they dont.

I watched nigeria france. To me nigeria looked like a team that had great buildup and that's about it. France had more opportunities, Nigeria blew a few, but in the end they had no quality when it came to finishing. Sure they could have won, but it was nowhere near an upset alert to me. Just because a team has some quality doesn't mean they deserve the upset. Missed chance after missed chance doesn't mean shit to me. Especially when you lose 2 0.

Jacked up for the game today. We're due to play a strong game all around, hope it's today because we'll need it. If Bradley can control the midfield and Jozy can give us 60 minutes, we should be in very good shape.
I BELIEVE.
I BELIEVE.

After seeing the US in the group stage I feel pretty good about this one. Don't know about a win, but it should be a close one. Think US is definitely better than anybody Belgium has played so far which doesn't mean a whole lot but hopefully it is a small advantage for us. GO USA!

And to my uneducated brain, it seems that Belgium got a lot of hype beforehand and through the group stage they more survived and advanced than impressed. Which at least makes me think they're vulnerable. Hopefully time will tell that's right!Terry_Tate;1631823 wrote:After seeing the US in the group stage I feel pretty good about this one. Belgium is definitely vulnerable but let's not act like they're not a good team. Their attack is absolutely filthy. We'll need to win a 3-2 type game if were gonna beat them.
