They have been known to have lackluster performances before a big tournament. Prandelli should have them ready to play, and I see Pirlo showing up for his last international tournament.

Group A: Other than Brazil, I think fight for 2nd is a toss up. Im going Cameroon.

Group B: Spain and Chile. I think Netherlands has a shit performance after a close loss in their opening game.

Group C: Colombia and Japan. This group sucks, especially with Falcao out. Despite going 0-3 in the confeds cup, I think Japan gave a good effort. They have experience under their belt playing in Brazil.

Group D: Italy and Urguay. I think both spots are a toss up between england/italy/uruguay though. This group I can see making some noise in the knock out stages.

Group E: France and Ecuador. Fuck this group. I hate france and I hate how switzerland was a seeded team.

Group F: Argentina and Bosnia.

Group G: Germany and USA. Despite all of the QQing about Donovan, the USA will win their opener against Ghana and pull off a tie against Portugal with Ronaldo not in 100% form.

Group H: Belgium and Russia

When it was announced that Brazil was going to host the World Cup, I said brazil would win it all. So, I will just stick to that prediction. I can't see them not winning in their own country, but it would be awesome to see them lose. Not a fan of Brazil at all.

Other than that, the following would make me happy with the WC:

-USA getting out of the group. Anything beyond that would be a bonus.
-Italy making a run to the semis at least. Would love to see Pirlo have one last run in him.
-Along with Brazil, I would be happy to see the following teams NOT win it: Germany, France, Argentina and England. I don't really think France has a chance, but fuck them. Same with England.

A: Brazil, Mexico
B: Spain, Netherlands
C: Colombia, Japan - bad group, but very competitive, especially with Falcao out.
D: Uruguay, Italy - Is Suarez expected to be ready?
E: France, Ecuador
F: Argentina, Nigeria - biggest cakewalk
G: Germany, USA - homer pick, but I'm not blown away by Portugal. I really think we advance if we beat Ghana.
H: Belgium, Russia

Brazil over Netherlands
Spain over Mexico
Uruguay over Japan
Italy over Colombia
France over Nigeria
Argentina over Ecuador
Germany over Russia
Belgium over US

Brazil over Italy
Spain over Uruguay
Germany over France
Argentina over Belgium

Brazil over Germany
Spain over Argentina

Brazil over Spain

Don't see them losing on home soil, but damn they could have a tough road once they get out of the group. Spain/Netherlands in the first knockout round, Colombia or Italy/England/Uruguay (whoever finishes 2nd in that group) in the quarters, then most likely Germany/Portugal/France in the semis.

Belgium
Russia

Brazil
Spain
USA (beating Belgium)
Bosnia
Germany
Argentina
Uruguay
Costa Rica

Brazil

I want to see Belgium make some noise. They are fun to watch. Sucks Bentaeke is out.

If Bentenke was healthy, Lukaku wouldnt have played as much, so it's pretty much a wash in terms of what they can accomplish. Now, if the manager had played a 4-4-2, with their talent, they could have finished top 3

I'll be watching the Ghana game from Grant Park in Chicago, I know that. In my new Johannsson jersey too. Are they doing any big viewing parties like that in NYC?

I may go to this roofdeck viewing at Terminal 5, a music hall. It's free, it could be ok, or a clusterfuck.

DuPont Circle in DC will have a big screen viewing for the Germany game. Unfortunately it's at noon on a Thursday.

Fados at Easton is partnering with the Columbus Crew. They are planning on having a giant tent outside and taking over the parking lot with TV's.

Doing a World Cup draft tonight. 8 people doing it picking 4 teams. Top 3 teams are the payout, so basically if I'm not in the top 5 I think I'll have like a 5% chance of winning anything, haha. Thinking my order will be Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Uruguay, and Italy for my top 8. Any good sleeper teams for my last 2 picks, or just fun teams to root for? Was thinking Ivory Coast and Cameroon but honestly don't know much about them except Eto'o players for Cameroon and Drogba plays for Ivory Coast.

I would recommend taking a south american team as a sleeper. And definitely not Cameroon.

I'll ask him when I get home. Probably some place with a lot of people but that's NY anywhere you go.

So wish I could go to Brazil. They had a guy at the AO bar last weekend trying to sell 2 tixs at face value.

My coworker leaves next week for two weeks. Has tickets to (I think) five games down there, including US-Ghana and US-Germany. So jealous.

I'll be at the Ghana match. Hopefully my seat is installed by then. Natal is one of the stadiums that still isn't finished.

Not sure if I want to keep up with the action the rest of the time down there or just go into vacation mode and DVR everything to catch up when I get back.
