It was nice to see them play the percentages in the 8th.

Just back from the game....and you have to feel sorry for Bauer.... a 6 inning quality start....leaves with a 4 run lead. Ascherton comes in and 5 batters later the games is tied...almost feel sorry for Outman, who was brought in to face the left handed hitting Blackmon, who promptly deposited his one and only pitch into the right field stands for a 3 run home run. That ball was hit so hard that it landed half way up the right field stands...into a 20 MPH wind blowing in.

All is well that ends well.
Some notes....All the runs driven in were by the # 8 & #9 hitters in the Tribe lineup....Lonnie Chisenhall and Mike Aviles. ( Not sure why Chiz was batting in the 8 hole today but it sure worked out). Chisenhall had an RBI single to start the Tribe's scoring in the second and followed that with a 2 run dinger later in the game. He also executed a perfect sacrifice bunt that moved Kipnis to 2B, who then scored on Aviles game winner RBI single. Aviles also had a 3 run HR.....a 4 RBI day.

David Murphy looked terrible today....both in the field and at the plate.
Drew Stubbs is batting .324 for the ROX with 3 HRs. and 6 SB.

Chiz has been nothing short of fantastic for the Tribe this year. I know we have been happy with him, but it's officially time to really start to give him his dues for the hard work he has done. Completely saved his career.

Now just hope it lasts the whole season lol

...he's hitting .200 on the road, and isn't playing every day.

Chisenhalls problem wasn't that he couldn't hit. His plate approach was just terrible the past years. He's been more patient this year and is swinging at pitches in the zone

I don't "miss" him because we never used him in a productive way. The guy can steal 40 bases. For us, he only stole 19 while being thrown out only once. Why the hell he wasn't running every time he was on first base is beyond me....and I complained about it all year. Just one of those things that bugged me.

Ive said for a long time the most unimptessive stat you can show me is a 100% (or close) success rate on SBs. Because to me, you should be running every single time until you are thrown out more than 1/10 times...

And I think we need to give him major kudos for that work. He goes the opposite field and up the middle now. Almost more than Brantley. He smoked the lefties yesterday...he still swings a lot, but he picks his time to swing at 1st pitch fastball and when to wait. He isn't getting fooled on the off speed as much.

He could always hit a fastball down the middle, sure. But as you said he had ok clue how to work a count and when to be aggressive etc. This year is a complete 180.

And that what was so frustrating watching chiz play. The talent and hitting ability is there. But his pitch selection was just so bad. He's starting to turn into the player everyone thought he could be

Big series against the Bo-sox coming up.

They've won 7 straight since their funk and appear to have righted the ship.

We seem to be damn near unbeatable at home of late and have the best home record in the AL.

Something is going to have to give.
