There are times I agree with you, more often than I like to admit, but you are way off by dismissing my comments.sleeper;1618364 wrote:Spoken like a true Boomer.
Sorry, but none of that is true in my circle of friends. I had to move back in with my parents when I was 23, and it was my very last resort. I was working two (shitty) jobs at the time and still couldn't afford to be on my own. I was embarrassed, and eventually made my situation worse by waiting so long to ask them for help. Once I did move back in with them (which I came to love, FWIW), I worked two jobs again while still trying to find a better one. A lot of my friends are in the same boat.thavoice;1618415 wrote:There are times I agree with you, more often than I like to admit, but you are way off by dismissing my comments.
Many grads are too fucking spoiled to take a job while they search and wait for the job they want. They would rather move back in with mommy and daddy and be coddled than to just be a fucking adult and get a job.
It isnt very difficult to get a job. Some of these entitled brats who are graduating nowadays think they should start at the top of the ladder.
Of course I didnt mean everyone.Fab4Runner;1618422 wrote:Sorry, but none of that is true in my circle of friends. I had to move back in with my parents when I was 23, and it was my very last resort. No I work and have a grasp on reality.vball10set;1618411 wrote:The only one delusional here is you. You truly are clueless, and based on your nonsensical posts, I'll assume unemployed as well...amirite?
I know people with $100k in student loan debt, which is a different convo for a different day. But of course they aren't going to want a job making $8.50/hour. When your loan payments are that high, you can't live like that.thavoice;1618425 wrote:Of course I didnt mean everyone.
It is a real problem though that some people are just too proud to take a job they feel is below them.
How is that clueless?Automatik;1618423 wrote:Perfect example of an out of touch "older" person. My dad was the same way...."get out there, knock on some doors! It's easy to get a job!!"
Fucking clueless.
But companies also don't look to waste money hiring and training people who ARE above jobs and will leave the first chance they get...so a kid with a 3.0 in accounting from Dayton isn't going to find getting a job at TheGap or Subway any easier.thavoice;1618425 wrote: It is a real problem though that some people are just too proud to take a job they feel is below them.

Hell I havent made $8.50/hr since the early 90's!Fab4Runner;1618429 wrote:I know people with $100k in student loan debt, which is a different convo for a different day. But of course they aren't going to want a job making $8.50/hour. When your loan payments are that high, you can't live like that.
Then don't get a degree in something basic at a school that costs $100,000. I love the people who go for a generalized degrees then expect to get a high paying job to start. Sorry your Business Management degree isn't worth much with no specialization.Fab4Runner;1618429 wrote:I know people with $100k in student loan debt, which is a different convo for a different day. Blanket statements...how do they work?thavoice;1618430 wrote:How is that clueless?
PRetty easy to get a job.
This.sleeper;1618432 wrote:It isn't difficult? LOL
I don't know a single recent college grad that thinks they should start at the top of the ladder. Most would be happy with any job with a salary large enough to service their student loans and potentially move out of their parents basement. Now, I have no doubt that there are some grads who think they should start off making $100k per year but that is the exception, not the rule.
Who said they have generalized degrees?Ytowngirlinfla;1618434 wrote:Then don't get a degree in something basic at a school that costs $100,000. again, lolsleeper;1618426 wrote:No I work and have a grasp on reality.
I'm not saying your friends this was a generalized statement.Fab4Runner;1618439 wrote:Who said they have generalized degrees?
I will give you that. I dont live in the corporate world.Automatik;1618435 wrote:Blanket statements...how do they work?
No shit it's easy to get a job. Read Fab's above post. And that's just one situation. There are too many variables to just say..."durr it's easy to get a job, people are lazy."
Clueless as in you really don't know what it's like to search for a job in today's corporate world. If I'm wrong, and you do....please elaborate how how it went for you.
It's not that hard when you have skills that people want.Manhattan Buckeye;1618442 wrote:If anyone thinks it is easy to get a job in the US, by all means quit yours now and apply. My guess is there will be hundreds of rejections before one even gets an interview. Even at a fast food shop.
Our county has 3.7% unemployment and yet the classifieds are still popping with jobs and see hiring signs are recent places.Manhattan Buckeye;1618442 wrote:If anyone thinks it is easy to get a job in the US, by all means quit yours now and apply. While the unemployment rate is low a lot of people dropped out of the work force. Now if those people were actually job seekers then it's a problem.thavoice;1618445 wrote:Our county has 3.7% unemployment and yet the classifieds are still popping with jobs and see hiring signs are recent places.
