I have not seen Kenton play this season, but we all know what their offense can do and I think that will be too much for Triway. Same as last season!
I'm not sure we can safely say we all know what their offense can do this year, though. We saw what their offense could do with a Mauk at the helm and a Mauk tossing the ball in years past. However, their offensive numbers this year don't exactly scream offensive powerhouse.
For example, Coldwater is obviously a VERY good team, but Coldwater blanked Kenton's offense this year. They scored less than 20 against Bath (4-6, also D4). Kenton only scored 40 points or more twice this year, and those games were against teams that didn't finish with more than three wins. Their regular season games have them averaging a mere 26.3 points. Still good for an 8-2 team, but I'm not thinking this Kenton team is even close to the one I saw play Norwayne in the State Championship game several years back.
I'm personally just not going to guess on their game, because it DOES appear that their defense is pretty good, just based on their record and the scores of their games. They only averaged giving up 10.2 points per game in the regular season. Half their opponents never got out of the single digits.
This smells of a much different Kenton team than we're used to seeing. Sounds like a team that has relied on defense this year (Kenton) going up against a team that has relied on offense (Triway).
