Coldwater...no pee wee system! That is another reason the numbers are so high for them. I wish Orrville would go back to this system and get the numbers up.

Most at Hillsdale credit pee wee for a good deal of our recent success. Hillsdale had 55 this year down from 77 two years ago but we had pay to play last year and a little cheaper this year.

There is the answer! It is not about the kids and what they want to participate in, its about what the smuckers in the stands want to watch. No wonder Jellytown is such a mess. SMH!

First of all Smuckers has nothing to do with it. Second, I don't like soccer. Deal with it.

Although not WCAL, this weeks Triway v Kenton game should be a good one to watch this Friday. Kenton always has a fast moving offense and they (at least in the past) use some different play philosophies compared to what you normally see.

Thoughts?

I don't think Triway's defense will be able to stop or even slow Kenton's offense. Kenton by 2 tds...

If they play press coverage, and penetrate on defense they will win.

Execution offensively. The team with less penalties and turnovers wins. ;)

OR the team with the last possession wins as the clock expires.

What does their offense look like this year? Who did you see them play?

I am just going on what I saw of Triway's defense this year. Triway only played two teams that were any good all season (West Holmes and The Valley). Had they played West Holmes later in the season that is an entirely different ball game IMO.

I have not seen Kenton play this season, but we all know what their offense can do and I think that will be too much for Triway. Same as last season!

Triway and Kenton may need more light bulbs on the scoreboard. Not sure Triway or Kenton's D can hold up against other teams Offense... could be a very high scoring game.

Just like they said 4 years ago..Norwayne couldn't beat Kenton and we all know how that went!! Good luck Triway you can do this!!!

I'm not sure we can safely say we all know what their offense can do this year, though. We saw what their offense could do with a Mauk at the helm and a Mauk tossing the ball in years past. However, their offensive numbers this year don't exactly scream offensive powerhouse.

For example, Coldwater is obviously a VERY good team, but Coldwater blanked Kenton's offense this year. They scored less than 20 against Bath (4-6, also D4). Kenton only scored 40 points or more twice this year, and those games were against teams that didn't finish with more than three wins. Their regular season games have them averaging a mere 26.3 points. Still good for an 8-2 team, but I'm not thinking this Kenton team is even close to the one I saw play Norwayne in the State Championship game several years back.

I'm personally just not going to guess on their game, because it DOES appear that their defense is pretty good, just based on their record and the scores of their games. They only averaged giving up 10.2 points per game in the regular season. Half their opponents never got out of the single digits.

This smells of a much different Kenton team than we're used to seeing. Sounds like a team that has relied on defense this year (Kenton) going up against a team that has relied on offense (Triway).

I'm really anxious to see Triway play an aggressive physical defense. I have a feeling this prolific offense might not be quite what most make it out to be. I could be wrong, but I feel an aggressive defense that takes away all the bubbles and slip screens will cause fits for them.

Norwayne's defense might have been, but Kenton's offense was better, too.

Exactly!!
O-trap...you mention Kenton's offense not being as good and maybe so...but Triway's defense has NOT been tested like they will be Friday and it will be the reason they lose this game!
....or I eat crow Saturday morning!

Care to make a bet of it? If Triway loses, I'll put up a Dalton Bulldogs logo as my avatar for a week. If they win, you put up a Wooster Generals logo as your avatar for a week.

I think Carmichael eludes pressure, has a quick read, quick release and plenty of targets. Im not sure an aggressive defense slows him. A SOLID LB and DB core is the answer.

Triway advances in a mid to high scoring game.

Aggressive in the sense to play press and get on receivers at the line. Carmichael will throw picks when pressured
