If the Reds lose, blame Dusty.

I would blame Corey Patterson for dating Dusty Bakers daughter if they lose this one today....if they even play.

This team is tough to watch. Looksl ike it will come down to how well they rack up wins against teams like the cubs, and when they actually meet up good teams like the braves. They are going to need to face the good teams when they are slumping.

This is going to be a team that can feast on the bad teams.....and get beat by the good ones.

Looking like it's going to be tough to get this one in tonight.

If Simon has another good start, what do the Reds do when Latos is ready to come back? Do you force Simon back to the pen?

No way.

Trade leake or homer for a bat.

Hell he may be serving time in the pen by then.

Not sure either is going to get you a big bat.

Says who? And when was it said?

No way do you put him back in the pen if he's throwing 7+ innings of 2 or less runs every outing.

You are a smart enough guy to know how it works.
Simon is a reliever, and the other guys are are starters. YOu know how it iwll end up.

With that said...2-3 days ago Latos just threw for the first time since resting his arm due to the inflamation. He hadnt thrown in a couple of weeks.
He still has quite a long time to go before he is back in the rotation.

By then the situation will have sorted itself out.

I agree though....if he continues to pitch lights out then how do you move him?

I think you send Leake to the pen and leave Simon in the rotation when Latos comes back unless Simon starts getting shelled in between now and then. I don't think that's going to happen though.

No way Simon stays in the rotation when Latos comes back.

And the reasoning that will be given is that he is needed to help strengthen a bullpen that is struggling.

Lol....MLB Tonight just showed game highlights of Reds/Cubs in Sept of 2004....went thru game highlights just like every game today.

Mark Prior had 16 K

Adam Dunn scored the winning run in the 12th.

16 K's for Prior and of course Dusty left him in the whole game. Reds somehow win on a homer.
