Downtown and a woodfire grill sort of place.

Kinda of pricey, but good. Spinach dip was pretty good. I got the flat iron steak, was good but for the price was not very much meat! Someone got the pizza, was pretty good and the dessert of a cookie, cooked right at that time and ice cream was pretty good.

If someone else was paying, I would go back.
I just looked at the menu, that's not very pricey at all.

$8 for your dip, $18 for your steak, $8 for the pizza.

That's pricey?

The Taverne in Richfield

Good food, nice atmosphere and quiet........unlike like the days when the old Coliseum was in business.

Yeah, 12 oz NY Strip for $18 isn't pricey....that being said the menu didn't look good to me. Just going by menu I'd give it an 11 out of 17.

If it was even close to 12oz I woulda have been happy. I would say 6, 8oz MAX. I make steak once a week on the grill/flat iron at home and yeah, that was NO WHERE NEAR 12 oz and I am not sure what the online price they have posted but it was $20.
$20 for a 6-8 oz steak, and gross sweet potato stuff just wasnt that impressive!

What the hell is that scale of 17?

I would give it a 4.5 out of 8.

Steaks are sized pre cooking, so usually a 12oz will be less than 10 when served.

Even so, $20 menu price for a steak of any size probably means it's shit, and ordering it is at your own risk.

So that $19 new york strip at Texas Roadhouse, with two generous sides, or 12 oz prime rib there is shit as well?

If so, give me three orders of that shit!

Nah, its fucking phenomenal! I get steak all over the place and TR is as good or better than places I have tried that are 2-3 times the price!

Did have a great steak two weekends ago at the Embassy Suites in Columbus, but it was likely catered in for the event but it was so tender a butter knife cut right through it!

lol, yes Texas Roadhouse is bad steak. I would say it is a step above most chain steakhouses (Longhorn, Outback), but well below the high end (Ruths Chris, Flemings, Sullivans, etc) chains. And those are significantly below the individual steakhouses (St. Elmos, Chicago Cut) and the highest end chains (Del Friscos, Gibsons, etc)

Longhorn steak typically better than TR....I choose Longhorn over TR for their texas tonion appetizer [emoji3]. They are all similar...I like their steaks but also understand there is better.

Yep.

However, not a huge fan of Gibsons, compared to other higher end steakhouses. Give me Bevette's, Mastros, Prime & Provisions, Rpm steak over Gibsons.

Hell I'll even take Morton's over Gibsons.

I agree with your point lol just trying to shift this thread to good steakhouses rather than Texas Roadhouse lol

Gibson's lunch is fantastic. The open face Steak "sandwich" is awesome.

Hit up Texas Roadhouse again last night. Fantastic, as always. 7.5 out of 8. Knew someone would have extra prime rib so I got the salmon.

Fan.
Tastic.

Did see a sign in their window about winning some magazine's award for best steak.........

Super serial.

I know people want to rip that place and get on their high horse and become steak snobs and only do the high end places but it is really good.

Our high horses were a direct result of you saying a 12oz steak for $18 was pricey lol
