Tom+Chee in Maumee...really liked their mac & cheese sandwich (on sourdough bread), and the creamy tomato soup was excellent...wife had the grilled cheese doughnut--too sweet for my taste, but she really liked it....8/10

CowFish in Raleigh.

It's a fusion sushi and beef(hamburger/steak) restaurant. Food was excellent. Service was ok. Very slow to come and greet the table, really my only complaint.

Heretic;1620382 wrote:No, it's an actual restaurant. It's on a regular state route, not a high-traffic road, so it couldn't be really called a truck stop. They have the room to have banquets for groups and with people coming to Hardin Motors for either car buying/looking or repair work, they probably get a lot of traffic from those people.

I'll have to ask my mom, who still lives in the area, about how it is. When I was a kid, I really liked going there, at least for buffet-style meals, but that was a long time ago. I seem to remember her saying something about its quality recently and it might have been about it being worse than she remembered.
If she is old old I imagine she will like it. The waitress was talking to a customer at the next table saying for lunch they were waiting out the door (and it isnt a small place). It was at 5pm and those old fogies like to eat dinner earlier so maybe the food was setting out for a bit, I dont know.
An old couple were talking about going to it after the game and I just had to laugh!

Just very few items on the actual buffet bar, and what they had was garbage tasting. Anything over five bucks was a waste of money.
Oh...and the kids price was $8.

My brother and SIL are fans of the Cincinnati location. I loved grilled cheese, so I want to try it, but I can't see it being better than Melt.

After they were featured on Shark Tank last season, they now have 9 franchises open, with 9 more in the works. I talked with the owner of this particular franchise (who is opening 2 more in this area over the next 6 months), and he told me Tom+Chee corporate project having 25+ open by the end of 2014. Crazy.

Had Jobu Ramen for lunch in Grandview. The place just opened so I'm going to cut them some slack, but they were missing a few things on their pretty small menu. No chicken stock for their chicken ramen - substituted soy stock instead which was a bad idea on my part (way too salty). Also had the Kimchi and pickles appetizer which normally comes with rice but it wasn't ready at that time so I got it for free. The rest of it was good but nothing special....might try it again in a few months

I read about that on reddit. I'm super intrigued. How were the prices?

Ramen was $12 (and I believe the other flavors were about the same), appetizer had I not gotten it for free was $6. Slightly above average for lunch but not ridiculous

I've had their fried chicken and the chicken sandwich, both were excellent.

As far as their sides go, the mac and cheese and white cheddar grits are fantastic. The fries are good. I haven't had the spoon bread but I hear it's their best side.

Good for them. Awesome to see a local company hitting it big.

Used to frequent Champps 3-4 times a month back in the day. Food has never been special, always thought it was overpriced for what you get.

Yeah I didn't really have any food but I would go back on a Thursday for their beer. They have about 30 beers on tap about 1/2 of which was craft and at $2.25 a pint it's not bad at all.

City Tap in Cleveland - 7/10. Typical bar food, but I love typical bar food. Can't beat the location for Tribe games.
