Walks will kill ya', but why'd it take so fucking long for the pitching coach to get his ass out there while he was throwing 7 consecutive balls???

One word...IMPLOSION!!!

And, unfortunately, this is where the Tribe has a major weakness. Bullpen guys who can put up 0s to keep you in the game while trailing.

Throwing errors have been way to prevalent this year.

Early observations this season. Kipnis might be our all star, but no question in my mind that Brantley is our best player. Cabrera and Kipnis and Swisher are killing this offense. Santana has been pretty bad too, but his on base percentage is very good.

My lineup?

Bourn (or Morgan)
Lonnie
Brantley
Gomes
Kipnis
Swisher
Murphy
Santana
Cabrera.

Just like in Little League, you want to bat higher in the order? Then hit the damn ball.

As for the starting pitching...same approach.

Bauer and Tomlin need to be pitching every 5th game. Salazar needs to be sent down and Carrasco should be used out of the pen.

Today's game was a bad loss and we can't afford to give away these games, especially against Detroit. Although this year's Tiger line up scares nobody.

I said both of these mid-way though the season last year.

I love Brantley and his consistent play in all facets of the game.

Swisher frustrates the daylight out of me. He's not earned his pay at all.

????

You've got to be kidding. Him sucking at the plate and not hustling on every play has nothing to do with me or Michigan. It has everything to do with him making $11 million and playing like he should be making $4 mil.

I hope he hit's .330 the rest of the year. That would be great. The team needs him to be the player that I thought he was going to be. So far....not so much.

I disagree. Salazar needs to go to the bullpen. Obviously I am no expert, but A) he doesn't have the stuff to be a starter or B) he isn't ready to be a starter yet. So move him to the pen and put Carrasco in the right field bleachers selling hot dogs. I wouldn't put him in the closer role because he can throw some beach balls over the plate, but maybe someone who can give you 2 innings, maybe 3. With the way this starting rotation has been, that will come in handy.

And what is with the pitching staff going and giving up runs every time the offense scores. seems like all this past week, every time the offense scores, the other team goes and puts a few runs on the board the next inning.

The only thing wrong with Salazar is that he needs to be developed, and this goes back to the discussion about not taking the opportunity to sign a developed potential 'ACE' in Justin Masterson. Top of the rotation pitchers need to be developed and that takes timeeven when they have great stuff. That's why it's ludicrous to think that you could let Kazmir and Ubaldo go....and then release Harang, and think that Salazar, Carrasco and Bauer are going to suddenly fill the void. Those guys are going to have some great outings, and then they are going to implode in others. Experienced pitchers are going to give you a chance to win by keeping you in the ball game even when they don't have their best stuff.

Carrasco should be put in the pen to see if there is something you can salvage. He has been around enough that it should be obvious that he does not have the head and focus for a starter....but he could be valuable as a matchup righty or for short term stints out of the pen....maybe even a setup guy or a closer.

Tomlin has proved he knows how to pitch at the major league level, and that even though he might not have great stuff like the others, he can get guys out and be a back end of the rotation guy.

Bauer and Salazar are works in progress.

...then we differ in what we think hyped up is. Swisher himself recently said he's played below his potential since coming to Cleveland and was hoping to change that this year. To me, that sucks when people under-perform.

Swisher had an okay year last year. He's not the only one hitting below the Mendoza line.

O.K. isn't worth $11 mil per year.

He hit below his career average in all major offensive categories. I got nothing agaginst the guy. I think he would be fun to play with on a team but he's supposed to be one of the Indian's offensive stars and he sucks. If this team is going to make the playoffs he's got to get it together.

If that's your definition of sucking, then I guess you're right--and that sure makes a helluva lot of people out there that suck...just sayin'

...and how about Chiz....4 more hits yesterday to raise his BA to over .500. You know that can't last, but what a great start. Chisenhall has worked hard and is proving that he should get more playing time. Sadly, even though it is the truth, Santana has let his fielding switch affect his play at the plate....and he said so himself. That's one reason why I'm not a big fan of player's switching positions...unless they are a utility guy to begin with. It is probably going to be down year for Santana. :(

Inconsistent effort and under-performing after signing the biggest contract of your career....yeah, that sucks....no matter how many others it applies to.
