i tried to find the full six minute version but it appears to have been removed. but basically 3 family members take turns verbally and physically bullying an 11 yr old boy for inappropriate facebook posting.

they have been arrested.

I say its abuse. the type of abuse that creates violent criminals with no conscience.

Their punishment certainly did not match the crime of the young boy.

Sounds like a typical ass whooping from my father as a kid. These kids today need their asses beat more, disrespectful little shits.

Well, yeah, I got spanked as a kid, too. But I'm pretty sure no one ever took a video of it to publish publicly, either.

You feel the need to discipline a child, no problem with that. But it should be a private lesson; not a public humiliation.

Now, as for the whipping, 60 lashes seems a good bit severe for inappropriate FB posting. Sounds more like stupid people with anger issues looking for a smaller member of their family to take out their personal frustrations on than an actual attempt of teaching right from wrong. More like "trash being trash" than "concerned family members wanting to discipline an unruly child".

Considering this is one or two steps below bloody knife attack, I'd vote abuse.

they are taking too much joy in it for my taste. i got plenty of beatings probably more severe than that but at no point did i ever feel like my mom or dad enjoyed it or got pleasure from it.

That's pretty much where I stand as well. Although the mom's comment of "You see this triple OG gangsta in his gear with all those tears" elicited a lol.

I understand the parents not wanting their 11-year-old son to flaunt gang affiliation on Facebook, but start by removing all of his computer or electronic device privileges and grounding or hitting him four or five times if absolutely necessary and then go from there. If the kid hasn't learnt his lesson, then perhaps as a last resort get out the belt or baseball bat. But do not video tape it.

Until you’ve been beaten with a cat-o-nine tails, the kid got off easy.

I loved my grandpa and grandma but if I stepped out of line or did something stupid or irresponsible my mom would call in the grandparents ….

60 hits with a belt little much, Cat-o-nine tail the message is clear and remember with 5 hits

I never used a cat-o-nine tails on my kids but they did get paddled.

A swat on the ass with an open hand is one thing, but to use a belt, paddle, etc. just seems barbaric...jmo.

The nuns in our grade school used paddle kids.
Not sure how hard they hit though as I never got into that much trouble.
Seemed like one kid a year maybe got it. I still remember it being a deterrant as we would say to one another "you better not do tha, you will get the paddle".

but anyways....idiotic to videotape, and then even post it.
