Given the circumstances, I think it is human nature to bring it up. Masterson is a popular player and might be the most difficult player to replace on the team. I think it is pretty obvious what kind of a pitcher he has developed into...and if I can see it and you can see it, why do we get treated to excuses about why we didn't sign him to a contract. Why do we get back door reasoning like "he's really only a .500 pitcher over the course of his career." As a Tribe fan, it is a sore spot that our best and favorite players are always allowed to walk.For the sake of consistency (I said something to Iggy about it on the other thread): are you/we (as a collective OC fan base) going to harp on this every time he has a good start?

Last season, Harang (currently 35 years old and possessing a career stat line that weighs in at "blissfully mediocre") pitched two complete game shutouts. He still finished 5-12 with a 5.20 ERA spaced between two stops. Tito finally put him out of his misery after 3-1/3. The guy was throwing batting practice out there today.
More than anything to me it was that he cost no money to keep around and we have little depth in the rotation. That 2/$22 deal he signed might as well have been 20/$220 because that is how we treated it.How casually we let him go.
