SOOOO many people were on it (no clue what Classy was saying). I just moved to Raleigh and work in Durham. The Duke fans were SO pissed when Mercer was drawn. Id say half thought it was toss-up at best.

It may not be this year, but the 1/16 games are getting closer and closer every year. Both Albany and Weber St, with something fluky or unforeseen, could've won their game...

Dougie doing Dougie things at the half. 17 Pts already.

Even more impressive, for a guy who isnt a great rebounder, he has 10 at the break.

If Cal Poly plays like they did the other night, they will battle Wichita St. But they won't have enough in the tank to win.

Bloom Carroll's Isaac Mcglone up next vs Kansas. He will probably play a few minutes. Minutes went down during conference tourney.

Tennessee is doing whatever they want offensively to UMASS. But goodness, Ive seen some phantom (anticipation) fouls in that game. At least 4 where the guy either stopped/backed off or went for the block but missed completely. All fouls.

I didnt understand why he was arguing. No one said it wasnt an upset, but he acted like the only person who saw the chance for it.

Wow. Refs just gave a timeout to Tennessee to avoid a 10 second call, after a deflected pass turned into a loose ball. Clearly Tennessee didnt have possession.

I cant believe UMASS coaches didnt get T'd up arguing.

Alonzo Mounring would've never made it through all of his ailments without Obamacare. Thank goodness for that 144 million in career earnings...

Duke sure does know how to have fun at the dance. They do seem to brighten the days of a lot of people when they lose, so maybe K should be applauded for spreading so much goodwill.

It was the most predictable "upset" of the tournament. Not sure why anyone here is surprised by this. As soon as the brackets were announced, I knew Duke was in major trouble. If for not being a fan of the team, I'd have picked Mercer in my bracket without blinking.

Um...they weren't even top 15 in the regular season in 3-PT%.

Duke was a top 5 3-PT% during the regular season and another stat(made or attempted maybe?).

False. The UD/OSU one was easy to predict

As for Duke's offensive attack, I had no problem at all with Duke shooting 37 threes -- Duke was a small team without a traditional inside presence and the three was a major strength of theirs, as evidenced by ranking in the top five in both threes made per game and 3-PT% almost all season. The problem is that the Blue Devils were not good defensively and prone to giving up a ton of easy shots inside, so it put a lot of pressure on them to make an extremely high-percentage of those shots. It basically guaranteed a lot of close games.

I just don't get why this is a surprise to anyone that Duke takes 35 threes in a game. Coach K's teams have been launching threes at higher-than-average rates for years. The 2001 national title team, arguably Duke's most talented team ever, which featured a front-court of Shane Battier, Mike Dunleavy and Carlos Boozer, fired away a then-NCAA record 1,057 threes on the season (also making a then NCAA-record 407). The only difference was that Duke had Carlos Boozer to balance things out. That balance should be there next year as Duke welcomes the top center in the class of 2014.
