Back to some action. Does UMass have an answer for Jarnell Stokes? LaLanne is a decent big, but Stokes has developed into a commanding force. He actually is very similar to Carlos Boozer, the way he really reformed his conditioning and touch.

It's not like they can only get guys who can run this guard happy chucking offense. It seems like every time Duke goes down it's because the 3s didn't fall.
I just had that conversation with a coworker. There's no excuse for them to not be able to get a big man

If you're a big man, why would you commit to Duke when you know they don't utilize you?

There are probably plenty of big men who would commit just to say they played for Coach K.

Well, next year they have the #1 center in Okafor, Jefferson and Plumlee will be Juniors. However, they lose Thornton and Dawkins to graduation and likely Hood, Parker and possibly Suliamon to the NBA.

Their team will have a completely different look (and maybe, for the better) next year.

Okafor is vastly overrated. I watched him several times this year and was not impressed.

No there aren't.

Or else you'd, you know, see some C's commit to K.

The whole class is. Similar to the 2012 class...

That's why I'm somewhat happy with UK's class. They have 3 guys who don't have the highest NBA ceiling, but are actually polished offensive players who aren't rated high because of athleticism and potential (Towns, Lyles and Ullis).

We've been burned by Alex Poythress, Marcus Lee, Archie Goodwin and a few others...who look like freaks for their position but when it comes to basics like shooting, dribbling and decision-making, were very overrated. If you're a one and done (like Okafor), I'd much rather be polished and able to make an impact quicker.

If I'm a talented big man, I am pretty much going anywhere except Durham.

Id be headed to Arizona, Florida, MSU, Kansas or UNC. No way I go near Duke.

Well, Jones and Okafor did say they wanted to play together. It's also a lot harder to judge the impact of a big man in college too. A lot has to do with the situation and role they are put into. Usually, a Freshman at another position is much easier to evaluate his impact much earlier.

Look at Andre Drummond. He sucked in college. Look at DeAndre Jordan his Freshman year. Barely played. Those guys really blossomed at 21 or so, well after their college days.

Gimme UK. Every big Calipari has recruited has been a first round pick. Cauley-Stein, Dakari Johnson and Randle will continue that trend.

Name a Kansas big who hasn't disappointed in the NBA.

Cole Aldrich and Thomas Robinson, they spent multiple years in college and now their NBA careers are about the same as mine...

If UMass doesn't rebound, they are going to lose by 20+...

Im talking about getting minutes and playing through me.

Anyone could have Anthony Davis and Nerlens Noel and claim they are great with bigs.

I would add UK to my list, but not for the reasons of others schools bigs sucking in the NBA.

Anthony Davis at MSU or Kansas would have been JUST as dominant as he was at UK.

Its just that Cal is able to recruit those players more than the other coaches.

Depends on what kind. If I'm a legit 7-footer who isn't needing the game to run through him and can rebound/defend, how much better could it get than UK? I mean, Davis, Noel and Cauley-Stein took their defensive games to another level by basically being given free reign with a defense that is constantly switching and feeding the ball-handler to the middle.

With that said, I don't go to UK if I want an offense run through me. Then again, I wouldn't go to Kansas for that either. Michigan State, Arizona and...Georgetown...surprisingly. The problem is at Georgetown you may not have the talent around you.

Baylor getting 48 foul shots to their 16 had a lot to do with it.

Baylor broke the record for most free throw attempts with 11 minutes left in the game. It's like the state of texas got together and was like 'Nebraska's coming back to town? Let's screw them again.'

I was watching on mute at work, and early on Nebraska was getting hosed, imo. Miles was getting pissed. Then I went to lunch and didnt see the rest, but if it continues, its not surprising he got tossed. They were getting bent over pretty hard.
