I can tolerate it here and there, but wayyyy too much figure skating coverage.

The look on Putins face after the 15 yr old skater was like "Bring me skater girl to bedroom"

I chuckle every time the announcers describe some tiny little figure skater as a "great spinner"Tiernan;1578339 wrote:The look on Putins face after the 15 yr old skater was like "Bring me skater girl to bedroom"

If ice skating was a pro sport on ESPN/Fox Sports/NBC multiple days a week, then it'd be the worst pro sport. Same with snow boarding, downhill skiing, cross country skiing, etc.

Yeah, I have a hard time getting into it. It's all mostly time trial events, or corrupt judges awarding points to people dancing on ice. It just seems like they invent sports to make a full slate of sports. I mean, how the fuck do you get into the biathlon? How did they even come up with that sport?SportsAndLady;1578336 wrote:Winter Olympics sucks. Outside of hockey.
Hey guys, for you fucks that are too slow to win a gold in a regular skiathlon, let's add a rifle in there. It's pretty much the modern pentathlon of the winter olympics.
Speaking of which, I think that would make the winter olympics somewhat exciting. Some type of pentathalon. Maybe downhill skiing, figure skating, ski jump, speed skating, and some snowboarding event? I don't know, but i am actually surprised this type of event has not been created yet.

Exactly Ted...I'm sure we will see more Ice Dancing, Ice Puppetry, Ice Theatre or Ice Painting from NBC before we see any hockey or Alpine Skiing.

On a sidenote hockey is honestly the best pro sport. Just think it has about as big of a following in North America as basketball yet almost no one grows up playing it

I'm not a fan of hockey. Attending a game is okay, but watching on TV is very difficult. I grew up not playing it or really learning it. I think with few exceptions, you life-long interests in spectator sports is formed in your childhood. I certainly appreciate the skill and athleticism of hockey players.
I am not much for figure skating either, but I don't mind watching it a bit during the Olympics. For my money the best event I've seen thus far is that biatholon.

Snowboarders (incl our own dillweed Shawn White) are bitching up a storm over the condition of the "half pipe" at Sochi. You would think these stoners would just take a few more tokes on their own pipes and chill out. I mean geez...its fkn snowboarding for style points dooshers. Now snowboard racing is a real sport.
