Way too much ice skating and long distance speed skating. The pack speed skating is OK but that long distance shit is like watching paint dry.

I would say gymnastics, but that is too popular/similar to ice skating for ratings purposes. But moving things like weight lifting or some of the "fighting" events such as boxing or whatever martial arts they have would work to even it out.
Not to mention, these sports would receive more attention (as they are more interesting than most other Winter Games events).

I'm just not a big fan of judged events. Watching some of the aerial stuff, even moguls - it all looks mostly the same to me. When it's a race, even against the clock, at least I know who won and can gauge how someone is doing. Most of these events I find myself thinking "well, wtf, was that good or not?!?"

I agree completely Gut...there is no room in sport for "judgement". Even in figure skating they could assign the skaters a certain number of mandatory jumps, spins, whatever... and the mofo that can complete the tasks in the fastest time wins. Save All that "artistic expression" BS for the Smurfs on Ice type shows.

Biathlon is awesome. I really admire how those guys go from total excretion to having to focus on something very still. Really neat.

the announcer of men's skiathalon was retarded...just screaming like someone who gets a thrill watching paint dry, and in the end I think he may have been more out of breath than the actual competitors

Surprisingly I've been intrigued by the biathlon and CC skiing.

The mens 15km "skiathlon" shown earlier today was a hell of a battle at the finish.

I kind of feel bad that the only thing I enjoy about figure skating is the falls.
