I agree that you don't pay $80 a ticket to bring a kid to a game to see fireworks, so why have them? IMO, leave the fireworks for baseball games, county fairs, etc., where the tix are more affordable and there's a greater chance that parents will bring their kids. Fireworks at a MAJOR COLLEGE football game is gimmicky, period.

I found an article that described what exactly the fireworks displays were going to be. It was going to be at halftime during the Miami game. To me, that's no different any other form of half-time entertainment. For the Penn State game, they wanted fireworks after touchdowns (which I don't see a big deal with), at half-time (same thinking as my reasoning for the Miami game), and post-game which I see as just a bonus for the fans.vball10set;1637365 wrote:I agree that you don't pay $80 a ticket to bring a kid to a game to see fireworks, so why have them? I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on it. I just don't see the big deal in wanting to have fireworks. And I think the reasoning that the regents gave in Michigan is pretty ridiculous and makes them sound like douchebags.

Sorry, I thought they were post game fireworks, and I agree with you about having them at halftime. That being said, I'm in total agreement with you on the ND video board objections--they're ludicrous!!!

Ya. Everything I had read before made it seem like they were both post-game fireworks shows. I still don't see a problem with that. But after seeing what they actually wanted to do, it makes the decision not to have them and the reasoning behind it even more ridiculous to me.vball10set;1637373 wrote:Sorry, I thought they were post game fireworks, and I agree with you about having them at halftime. And yes, the objections to the video board at ND is just dumb. The best is reading the ND facebook page after they released the plan for what the field will look like once the turf is installed. People are freaking stupid. I would have liked to have seen these same people around during the days of Knute Rockne. "You can't use a forward pass! That's not tradition! Notre Dame is about tradition. Blah blah blah blah."

Oh it's ridiculous to honestly have fireworks at a football game, hell that'd be cheesy for even Bowling Green. Thing is this isn't a long 162 game season, it's 12 games with 6-8 at home and every game is an event. Fireworks promo's would be absolutely gay. As for Notre Dame not wanting a video board and turf, well that's pretty stupid. Even Central Catholic has a video board and turf lol

I think the only Ohio college town I'd definitively put behind BG would be Akron

Never been to Akron, but that would explain even pick6 being able to "pick up girls."ts1227;1637651 wrote:I think the only Ohio college town I'd definitively put behind BG would be Akron

I went down there and it's pretty similar but I give BG the sluttiness advantage since it's 60/40 girls. I've never been to Miami thoughlhslep134;1637654 wrote:You ever been to OU during springtime?

The only "advantage" BG has over anyone in the state of Ohio is the amount of business their STD clinics get.Classyposter58;1637658 wrote:I went down there and it's pretty similar but I give BG the sluttiness advantage since it's 60/40 girls. I've never been to Miami though

Hahaha ya got me there. But seriously it's a pretty cool place and pretty identical to OU, however I don't like Kent a whole lot. It's kinda dumpySportsAndLady;1637661 wrote:The only "advantage" BG has over anyone in the state of Ohio is the amount of business their STD clinics get.

Are we still talking about BGSU chicks? Christ, if you think that's a bastion of female talent, you need to get out more.

har har har..we've got Akron jokes. OSU hands down has the hottest girls in the state. As for MAC schools, go to BG or OU if you want a trashy slut, Miami if you want a fake bitch, or go to Akron if you want Miss Teen Ohio http://www.pageantupdate.info/missteenusa2010/delegates/ohio.htm
