Jones' finish was nice and Dempsey was great tonight.

More than likely, just will need a draw. But yeah, can't count on anything.SportsAndLady;1798191 wrote:4-0 win. Need a win against Paraguay to lock up knockout stage

Won't it probably be Ecuador who will get 3 points off Haiti and jimp
Peru with just 4 puts (assuming loss to Brazil)?

Peru leads Brazil 1-0 on a handball goal. After about 3 minutes conferring the referee let it stand.

Why are players aloud to touch and push officials? How the hell is anything done with all the players surrounding the official as he is attempting to confer? Such a backwards game in so many respects, IMHO that helps lead to the violence that occurs.Mulva;1798910 wrote:Peru leads Brazil 1-0 on a handball goal. USA advances 2-1...most of second half played with 10 on each side. Jermaine Jones was sent off for US

Will Yedlin be back? I can't remember what the rule is for actual red card vs accumulation red cards

The red card on Jones made no sense. It was a straight red and he got it after getting his feet kicked out from under him from behind?

Bedoya was the one who got kicked from behind. Jones came over and pushed Valencia. Ref saw it and gave the red card.iclfan2;1800095 wrote:The red card on Jones made no sense. It was a straight red and he got it after getting his feet kicked out from under him from behind?

I thought it was a very weak red.

Ahh thanks, I was flipping back and forth. Regardless, you don't get a straight red for pushing a guy. Imo a straight red is reserved for only the worst kind of fouls.SportsAndLady;1800098 wrote:Bedoya was the one who got kicked from behind. Jones came over and pushed Valencia. Yeah I just happened to flip over right when it happened. Fox did an awful job showing replays but jones definitely shoved Valencia. But definitely agree it should not have been a red.iclfan2;1800100 wrote:Ahh thanks, I was flipping back and forth. Regardless, you don't get a straight red for pushing a guy. So I had saw a tweet that said Bedoya would be out too, but now I can't find it.wildcats20;1800029 wrote:US will be without Jones, Wood, and Bedoya.
Jones is out and so is Wood. Yedlin will be back.

Actually, the 4th official was the one who suggested that Jones get the red. Very weak, even the replays show there wasn't any real contact with the face. Hands were up, but that's about it.SportsAndLady;1800098 wrote:Bedoya was the one who got kicked from behind. Jones came over and pushed Valencia. Ref saw it and gave the red card.

As Dr. Joe stated, it's really only a red if the player(s) weren't involved in the original foul and there was a little scrum as a result of it. Trying to avoid the mob-style pushing and shoving.Automatik;1800111 wrote:Jones gave him a tap to the face, that an automatic red .
Of anyone that should have been carded, it was probably Brooks who came in from out of nowhere and really put a good shove on some Ecuadorian from behind.
