Can someone please explain why a white idiot knocking out an old black man is a 'hate crime' but a black idiot knocking out an old white man, white lady, whatever, is not a 'hate crime'?

If anyone can please explain the difference I would love to hear it.

Eric Holder's fingers are all over this. It's pretty obvious why THIS one is a hate crime.

According to Eric Holder, blacks are utterly incapable of hate crimes here in Obamanation.

Oh, I do have to add one thing.

I do believe the idea of a 'hate crime' is stupid, if I commit a crime against you I obviously don't like you or in fact I 'hate' you. So adding the label is just stupid.

Secondly, if this was a lone incident, meaning the 'knockout game' did not exist in it's current state, and a white dude visciously attacked an old black man. I could honestly see the 'hate crime' label and prosecution even if I don't agree with it. The label would most definitely fit under current laws.

However, given the background of the 'knockout game', especially with a majority of it being black kids being the perpetrators (and a good portion of their victims being white) how is the one major incident of it where a stupid white kid attacks a black man a 'hate crime' and none of the others are?

It makes no logical sense, I just want someone who believes in 'hate crimes' to defend this prosecution.

Don't get me wrong, the kid deserves to go to jail, I am NOT disputing that at all. I just question the addition of it being a 'hate crime'.

Trust me, I was pissed about that BS ruling as well. That kid should have been in jail for a long time.

Consider that sarcasm. I've said all along that the other cases involving blacks assaulting whites should be labeled as hate crimes. This guy was looking for attention and he's getting it. There are double standards in this country and some people act as if they're shocked about them.

Can't tell if this is sarcasm or truth (haven't been following this story that closely). But in any case, it's enough to get him charged, but I don't know about a conviction. I could see it if he used the racial slur in the same video where he hit the old guy, or if he went on some crazy white power manifesto beforehand. I view hate crimes as attacks on people solely based upon the hatred of that person's race/sexual preference. Being upset that a double standard exists isn't the same as attacking someone because of their race.

gosh you got him purposely selecting a member of another race to attack and saying that on video.
Are there examples of black assailants selecting white victims and saying that on video?
