The biggest, imo, and most surprising disappointment was the play of our O-line, especially Mewhort. They were flat out played. Period.

Pretty much says it all, and this includes Shazier himself and Jack Mewhort-and I think they'd both agree.

There was talk all week about the Ohio State defensive starters who were missing and how it represented major problems for the Buckeyes. As it turned out, Bell, Armani Reeves and Jamal Marcus played well. It was some of the veterans who no-showed.[INDENT]
“I feel like the young guys, they were ready and prepared to play,” junior linebacker Ryan Shazier said. “Vonn and Armani and Jamal, I felt like they really stepped up when we needed them to.”

Plenty of blame to pass around on that one. Philly was actually having a very good game until the blunder of blunders. Coaching gags late hurt us. When its all said and done we all were expecting this...why are we now shocked?

The "super coach" that everyone was wringing their hands over worrying about whether he would leave retirement to come save our program has gagged two in a row to middle of the road younger guys who will be both be rising on the coaching hierarchy.

Didn't even take time to go back and read much of this thread after the game last nite. I am sure it was almost all about Miller being so bad and causing the loss. Anyone who thinks that, is just flat out ignorant in my book. Yes, he made some poor decisions. But bottom line, like it has been, the DEFENSE just flat sucks. Players not executing and the defensive coaching just sucks. Unreal how many WIDE open receivers, missed tackles, etc, etc.
This was OSU first loss EVER when the offense has scored 35+ pts. EVER!! 35 pts by offense, should win you the game, period.
Obviously, the turning point was Brown fumble. I feel OSU was going to roll over Clemson had that not happened.
Some serious changes need to happen on defense, coaching and players.
Go Bucks!

Let me ask you a question. Coming off of a 6-7 season, if someone told you Meyer would come in, go undefeated, then go 12-2, 24-2 over two seasons, put OSU in a position to maybe play for national title by season 2, what would you have said Mr. Genius? I think just about ANY OSU fan would have taken that in a heart beat, and also said no way in hell would that happen. Meyer has ONLY been here for two years. His first recruiting class is only the SOPH class.Tiernan;1562194 wrote:The "super coach" that everyone was wringing their hands over worrying about whether he would leave retirement to come save our program has gagged two in a row to middle of the road younger guys who will be both be rising on the coaching hierarchy.
This WIN right NOW mentality, is unrealistic. Yes, it happens on occasion, but its rare that it happens that quickly.
OSU is in GREAT hands and is prepped to contend for national title for years to come with Meyer running the show.

Sober now but still pissed.
Things that need to happen:
1. Demote Fickell
2. Fire Coombs
3. Tell Whithers to GTFO
4. Tell Herman to stop being a ***** in big games
5. Tell Braxton to GTFO (start Barrett)
6. Tell Devin Smith to sit some lumber
7. Tell Philly Brown thanks but you fucked us in your last game
8. Tell Roby to see ya never, not playing like a puss.
9. Give mad props to Von Bell and demote fickell a second time for not getting him on the field until this game
10. Get excited for EZE to start
I think if we do those 10 things well have a nice shot for a Natty next year

I know. They should have said it before the bowl game. Was merely reiterating the point. Should have changed it to "see ya never".LJ;1562266 wrote:This is like the 10th time ive seen this posted over multiple forums. Do some of you people not really follow this team? Yeah the people who are excited or want Braxton to leave have no idea whats about to come our way if he does.
Cardale, hasn't thrown a pass in a real game, in like 3 years.
JT Barrett, hasn't played a single snap, in 2 years, and coming off an ACL
Stephen Collier- Senior in HS currently, rated as a 3 star.
Really want that instead of Braxton? Tells me all I need to know about you and your credibility.

Reps on that. Some people are really clueless. Yes, Braxton didn't play great last nite. But first give credit to Clemson, they had a great plan to contain his running. Second, our Oline didn't exactly protect him real well. He wasn't just bumped around, he was lit up on more than one occasion. But he sucked it up, and stayed in the game and did what he could do considering he was running for his life most of the time. I couldn't believe OSU wouldn't keep a RB in the backfrield to help with protection. I do like Herman as the OC...but I also scratch my head on occasion. But again, when your offense scores 35 pts, you should win the game, period. Our defense consistently put our offense in a situation to HAVE to score to stay in the game. That's a lot of pressure and unrealistic expectations. But again, after this entire season where the OSU offense literally shattered almost every offensive record in OSU history, I can't listen to people rip Braxton or our offense. Anyone with an ounce of common sense, knows where the major issue is. DUHHighRoller74;1562290 wrote:LOL.
