I agree. But I think EVERY fan of every team, always questions play calling. Its easy for us sitting back in a chair to say as much. These guys have studied film for hours on end, see things we don't see, expect things we don't know. Just because a play doesn't work, doesn't mean it was a bad call. More times, its a team not executing. Right now, I wouldn't trade Herman for any OC in the country. And I don't think he will be at OSU much longer as he will get a head coaching job somewhere else soon. After dealing with Bollman for 10yrs...Herman is a fresh of breath air!!

No real surprise, JT wins B1G Frosh of the Year.

Gordon wins offensive player of the year.

Coach of the Year still to come, as well as defensive player. I think it will be Kill and Bosa winning those.

For taking an 8-4 team and making them...8-4!

Kirk Ferentz would be proud of Jerry.

I'll be honest, I don't understand the love either. I think he's a good coach, but he's still a coach at a mediocre school producing mediocre results. Always thought the same about Fitz at NW.

But no one hates OSU and there is no anti-OSU bias.

Over the past few years, it seems the Coach of the Year goes to the coach of an average team that plays a bit above themselves and is kind of decent.

It's starting to remind me of the NBA Player of the Year award during Jordan's era when they'd give the award to the top player who wasn't Jordan. Which would lead to the Bulls playing that player's team in the NBA finals. Which would lead to Jordan doing what he usually did when he felt snubbed and had a chance to show up the player he got snubbed in favor of. Those were good times.

Just saw this on Twitter: "@CJ12_: Waffle House With My Bro @DunnItAlready25 Before We Hit The Office 🍴"

Ohio States starting QB is doing Waffle House at lunchtime on Wednesday before the biggest game of his life. Obviously the dudes decision making skills are in top shape this week.

I didn't mean it in regards to COY. I just meant in general, Kill seems to get a lot of love. But you are correct about the COY, that is the way it works. To me, I would be ok with my coach never getting it if were were going undefeated or 11-1. It means that is the expectation.

Not sure I follow. What is wrong with a college kid eating Waffle House for lunch on a Wednesday?

How does Gordon win offensive player of the year when JT broke the Big Ten touchdown record? lol

Apparently it should've been Ihop? Waffle House is a bad decision.

There's nothing wrong, I think it's awesome. Hell, I just did Waffle House for lunch with some co-workers because of it, haha.

True story

Had good front section seats at St John Arena back I believe in 1986. Brad Sellers, Dennis Hopson and freshman? Jay Burson....playing vs Cleveland St. I look over in the 2nd half and right across the aisle was a guy sleeping....it was Earl lol.

They are college kids. They can eat pretty much anything and it is gonna be ok. Same for HS kids. Heck, I saw a kid on our team eat 3-4 hot dogs, some nachos and stuff between games of a DH and pitched a complete game and had a few hits!

Now...the older guys...they may need to be more selective!

HEck..didnt Chad Johnson say hsi pregame meal was always McDonalds?

Minnesota went 8-4 this season (and still has one game yet to be played) and 8-5 last season. Remind me again what Michigan & Brady Hoke's record was the last two seasons, please???

What's my point in mentioning Michigan & Brady Hoke, you ask? Some people (I would think Michigan & fans of Michigan) would kill (no pun intended) right now for an 8-4 season. And any Michigan fan who tries to deny that is... well, I'll leave it at laughable.

And this has what to do with Kill and Minnesota? Oh that's right, nothing. Did you not notice Michigan fired their coach for their results? Derp.

I have no problem with Kill getting this award. I think he has done a nice job at Minny. They are pretty damn competative now compared to the past, prior to him. You talk about 8-5 last year compared to this? Well...how far can this program really go? Maybe a bit better on any given year with a little luck. Consistantly better? I don't think so honestly. But the guy is doing a nice job.
I think OSU/Tressel/Meyer get shafted because of expectations, recruiting, etc. Everyone expects them to do waht they are doing, because its OSU. So unfortunately, Tressel and Meyer really dot' get a fair shake in the big picture of things IMO.

If Urban didn't win it in 2012, he won't ever win it.

Coming off the Fickell disaster season, turning around with the same players and going undefeated was his, or any OSU coaches best shot.
