Yes, maybe just a shot from the back would have been better.ptown_trojans_1;1829055 wrote:Rogue One, 8/10.
Slow start, but as others said the last 45 minutes were great.
I loved the ending except one thing. The whole CGI thing at the end was cheesy to me. It wasn't needed. We all knew what happens next.

That was pretty cool. Did see it did over 150 million, pretty good but not close to EP7. Said it last year that with openings in December you run against a few things like shopping, parties and weather that could slow it down.BRF;1829112 wrote:Nor did I.

Likely go see it over Christmas break once more and then......wait for EP VIII!
and they used some unseen footage from A New Hope.

"White Christmas" (1954) - 9.5/10Belly35;1828942 wrote:Watching Holiday Inn W/ Bing and Fred. Got to love musicals and tap dancing ...
Portraying all the romance of nightclubs with 2-chair tables, the radio and television industry, train travel, and New England inns with circular fireplaces and large floor shows - with none of the deltas - this movies captures it all. My only demerit is issued because Bing gets a little carried away with the hep-cat slang at times.
I typically don't fall for blondes, but I decided a few years ago to make an exception for Vera-Ellen, one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen - and one of the most tragic. Danny Kaye is in top form both as a dancer and comedic actor. John Brascia deserves a lot of credit as the lead male dancer with the traveling revue, and a young George Chakiris (with 3 other men) woos Rosemary Clooney in a modernistic dance interpretation during the torch song "Love, You Didn't Do Right By Me".
Bonus points if you can spot the moment when Vera-Ellen actually trips over Danny Kaye's foot during "The Best Things Happen When You're Dancing". She recovers so quickly it's hard to see.
Classic line: "Mutual, I'm sure!" by Barrie Chase, who also had a scene stealer dancing with Dick Shawn in "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World". Fran Drescher would have approved.
Mrs. Zunardo got me the DVD's for White Christmas and Holiday Inn last year, The bonus features, commentary, and photos are, well, bonuses.

I would give Rogue One about an 8/10. 100x better than Ep1 and Ep2, somewhat better than Ep3 and Ep7, but just slightly under Ep4/5/6.
I don't know if they could have tied it any better into Ep4 in the last 30 minutes though, it was about perfect. I can agree with the CGI but overall that didn't upset me really.

I thought that was cool at the end. I will say the movie needed a little more Darth Vader but that last scene with him was awesomejmog;1829198 wrote:I would give Rogue One about an 8/10. 100x better than Ep1 and Ep2, somewhat better than Ep3 and Ep7, but just slightly under Ep4/5/6.

We got a big group together to go see Rogue One and then we all watched A New Hope right afterwards. Everyone agreed Rogue One makes A New Hope even better.

What should be the ultimate and only Christmas tradition: The "GARBAGE DAY" scene from Silent Night Deadly Night 2.
10/10 for the excellent acting going into shouting "GARBAGE DAY".

SW Rogue One 5.5/10. Mindless, but entertaining. Better than 1-3, but worse than every other one.

I liked Rogue One. I'm not a huge star wars guy, but it was entertaining and pretty funny.

I laughed several times. Thought it was what it was. I don't watch Star Wars movies to judge it as an Oscar nominated film. It did the trick.

There's an article talking about its humor. I thought it had some funny moments. I'm not gonna post all the times I laughed at a movie.

Saw Passengers last night. Pretty good movie and interesting concept. Sucks that you see Chris Pratt naked but not Jennifer Lawrence.

You did get the 1/2 second JL side boob though! I didn't think the movie was all that great but I will agree with you the concept is definitely interesting.friendfromlowry;1830233 wrote:Saw Passengers last night.
