Does it really matter? May picked MSU in this game. He is gloating now. Now or later? Its the same. I'd take my chances given Urban has a month to prepare for a game.

With all due respect, it wouldn't matter with this defense. We just don't have the secondary to compete with an offensive machine like FSU...we just don't.

They got pretty much shut down by South Carolina. They DID NOT PLAY the #2 (Duke), #3 (Miami) or #4 (Virginia Tech) teams in the ACC. Their only quality win was Georgia, who was 8-4.

Clemson was a product of not only a weak OOC schedule, but they also managed to have the weakest in-conference schedule a team could have.
when you lose at home to PSU , you stink

Yes, I agree. Wisconsin blew their chance, but the whole point here was that Clemson did zero this season. Louisville did just as much and they wouldn't even have any respect even if they went 12-0.

I hated the call on 3rd ad 4th and short, but the fact is, if the TE got his block it would have been a first down.

Carlos Hyde averaged 6.6 YPC tonight against the best defense in the country. On 3rd and short, there's an empty backfield. Seriously? Empty backfield so they know Braxton is running the ball? Then on 4th and short, once again Hyde doesn't carry the ball.

As bad as the defense was, if the correct play call is made on either of those two plays, OSU most likely scores to take a 31-27 lead. Would the defense have held on to that lead? Maybe not. But it is completely inexcusable for Tom Hermann and Urban Meyer to not give the damn ball to Carlos Hyde on 3rd and 4th down on the most important drive of the season. I just don't think I'll ever get over how ridiculously dumb it was to not go to him, especially TWICE in a row!

How can that be? Urban Meyer is the best coach in country, well at least that is what i have been reading on this board all week.

That's really been the key element of the offense this year, not knowing which of the two is going to get the ball for the big play. Take Hyde out and the guessing is is not needed!

We can legitimately talk about schemes and talent, but another thing needing mentioned is that of the better programs, tOSU is about the worst tackling team I've seen. Hint to them and their coaches, tackling involves wrapping your arms around the opponent and taking them to the ground, not attempting to run into them and hope it knocks them off their feet.

Big ten bowl projections look like another bad bowl season coming for us all. You can say Clemson did not do anything...I am a huge OSU honk and I can make the same argument for us.

play calling last night was terrible and then there is the D. Discusting display last night.

Because Tom Herman is a genius and can out scheme any defense in the world

I've let the game sink in a little more, and I can confirm I'd rather them lose against MSU than to FSU by 50 in the NCG.

Yeah, I ain't even mad.

Flat out....we aren't good enough. Offense still rules, but you can't win titles with a D that bad.

Agree completely. That is the worst defense I can ever remember from an osu team. Poor scheming and poor talent....

The part that makes me sick is the fact that MSU scored TWICE on completely blown coverages. Deduct those 14 points and OSU leads.

I won't rewatch but i couldn't believe the blown coverage on the right end in the endzone. It was baffling

Barnett was getting torched all day. He broke on one ball and picked it, but he alone gave up 21 (if I am remembering correctly)

It got to the point at times last week too....but as the game went on I'd actually freak out a bit when I'd see Cook drop back.

We can't have that. I love defense, I want teams to fear our defense. It must be fixed.
