Gilbert. Yikes. Backup corners looking terrible again.

Wow Gilbert looks bad. The 1st round isn't the place to strengthen your bench boys.

Santonio Holmes is someone we easily could have picked up!

I loved the pick, as I thought he was a stud, and going against the #2s was going to mean we had 2 shutdown CBs...but if he doesnt start, even if he proves to be integral part of the team, it seems like a bit of a waste when Browns needed so much WR/help elsewhere.
And right on cue, Gilbert looks bad and whiffs on Holmes and they score

Manziel is so uncomfortable in the pocket, jittery feet.

McFadden is brutal.

Even though it was against Chicago's 2's & 3's, it was nice to see Hoyer and the 1's put together a controlled, solid drive.

1st team defense giving up WAY too much against Chicago's #3 offense.

Manziel looks electric at times and clueless at others. Not comparing their overall skillsets but it sure as hell looks like JFF has "Brady Quinn/Charlie Frye/Colt McCoy Syndrome" when throwing the deep ball, inaccurate/underthrown/wounded ducks. Hopefully he grows out of this but I'm skeptical.

He hasn't played a real NFL game yet and has played with scrubs all preseason. The reaction to this guy when he makes a mistake is unbelievable. How do you expect him to be? Bortles isn't starting over Chad Henne. Bridgewater isn't starting over Cassel.

As I said before, I havent seen any preseason games of the Browns. But, the ducks have to be worrisome. Bad plays and bad throws not nearly as much as not being able to throw a spiral when going downfield.

He doesn't have a natural throwing motion to me, it's not fluent at all. He seems to just throw it as hard as he can and his accuracy suffers because of it.

And as horrible as people make it out to be, his accuracy is still better than Hoyer's. Like I said, overly critical. Do you expect him to come in and be perfect, or ever be perfect? I don't. But damn, give him a chance to grow before we call him Brady fucking Quinn. He's already better than those bums ever were.

He's better than them based on what? And I disagree about him being more accurate than Hoyer, definitely not.

I find it laughable scrubs like Weeden were given two seasons when Manziel is being written off before he has ever even played a real game. He hasn't looked horrible. He's looked a lot like a rookie to me with things to work on, but a lot of potential.

Stats don't lie. His completion % has been better all season. This is playing with guys who cant make an intermediate catch. Hoyer also hasn't played exclusively against 1s.

Much more accurate than Hoyer. Dropped passes again skewed his numbers.

Neither do eye balls, he has been all over the place missing throws, and he has happy feet in the pocket. Has a lot of work to do before he is a starting qb in this league, not saying he can't get there.

6/17 against 3rd stringers, have you seen some of his throws? You gloss over everything he does poorly, Skip Bayless?

The #1s arent exactly catching everything Hoyer throws either.

PFF had an article on Gilbert or maybe stats were posted on reddit. But Gilbert has been gettin toasted this pre season, hopefully its just him getting adjusted to the game speed. I liked that pick, he seemed like he was gonna be a stud

I agree. But the fact remains that Hoyer has been throwing to better talent while being protected by a much better line. Gilbert does need to step his shit up as well.

He had some bad throws...yes. But for the season he's been a lot more accurate than Hoyer. Again, his first throw was dropped for a 45 yard gain and another was dropped for a 15 yard gain. That doesn't count???This so called competition is a joke. Manziel moved this team up and down the field all night in spite of the drops. This Hoyer experiment needs to end...real soon. Moreover, people forget that rookies grow. P Manning had 28 picks his first season. Aikman was worse. Manziel will be all pro sooner than later. The longer the coach waits in playing the best talent, the longer the franchise will suffer.

For those that somehow think Manziel is not as accurate as Hoyer... Manziel 69% completion rate in college...Hoyer 55%. There is simply no argument on that.

I agree with you....BUT

College stats mean dick, in the NFL.

If they mattered Timmy Chang would be putting the finishing touches on his HOF Career, and Case Keenum, would be transforming the league.
