My commute was nice, just like every Friday.SportsAndLady;1614377 wrote:So to those in Cleveland, how was traffic? Was it backed up due to all the news trucks coming into Cleveland?
Also, anyone going to the parade today? Iggy told me there would be a parade in Cleveland if we take JFF.
Also, hope I can get some extra vacation days so I can take a lot of Tuesdays off in the fall--since we're going to be playing on MNF a lot this year.

Probably pretty easy heading into Cleveland since there's no jobs or people there anymore.Pick6;1614391 wrote:My commute was nice, just like every Friday.
I mean I guess there are homeless, but they don't contribute to the traffic because they don't drive

Hope some of you got to go out with Browns fans last night for the shenanigans. It was so hilarious and fun in Akron last night. Hell, sportscenter lead in was a draft party at the hard rock casino. Such a buzz going on around Cleveland right now...love it!

Initially I was pissed about the trade back because Mack was available and that's who I wanted. After I saw the trade and who we took I was pleased because Gilbert is the top CB in the draft and along with Haden it will make for a strong pass defense.
Now for Manziel. I don't like it because I think he will be out of the league in 3 years or less but I'm thankful that we didn't get suckered in to drafting him early in the 1st. I hope I'm wrong, but there's a reason he slipped that far and mostly its because he's not an NFL QB.

I absolutely love that they got Gilbert and raped Buffalo while doing so. His is big and fast....real fast. As for Johnny, no idea what to expect, seems like a no brainer pick value wise and it has the city in a frenzy...which i love. If they come away with Lee with this next pick....I may overdose on heroin tonight.

I keep hearing "haslam took manziel because a homeless guy told him to!"
Not surprised that story went right over the heads of Cleveland haters and media.
The point of that story was no one in Tennessee recognizes haslam in public yet in Cleveland everyone can spot him. Even homeless people recognize him. Which is hilarious IMO.
It's not like haslam said "I couldn't decide who to pick, manziel or a tackle..then I saw a homeless guy and he told me to take manziel so I did it!"

Pretty excited for who's still around in the 2nd. Definitely think we'll get a high value offensive player. Whether it's Morgan Moses or the OT from Nevada. Su'a-Filo at guard or go with Hyde, Marqise Lee or Jordan Matthews. I'm cool with any of the lineman or Hyde. But I think Jordan Matthews would be my pick. Seems to be a polished and reliable #2 WR that still runs a 4.46.

Congrats so far on the Browns draft! They have hit a HR thus far and set themselve up again next year with 2 first round picks.
If they give this regime a chance they will be serious contenders in the AFC in very short order.
As a steelers fan, not looking forward to the defense having to chase Manzel around the pocket the whole game. He will make some big, big, big plays for the browns with his feet and scrambling ability and throwing downfield. I look for him to get dinged up a little bit but also cause havoc. The sooner he figures out that he wont be able to get away with some of the stuff he did against college players the sooner the browns will be contending.
Kid is gonna be a good one for the browns, and the rest of the AFC North (I mean the central, right?) will be chasing him for years.

And sadly the Steelers got Shazier and his speed to go after him. Wasn't happy to see another Buckeye head to Pittsburgh of all places.thavoice;1614466 wrote:Congrats so far on the Browns draft! They have hit a HR thus far and set themselve up again next year with 2 first round picks.

I still have no idea what to expect from manziel. Biggest boom or bust pick I can remember.
I think the description I think is probably most accurate is that he'll give headaches to both browns fans and opposing fans. Going to be some ridiculous plays, but also some infuriating turnovers.
As far as tonight... Get me a wr (Matthews or Lee) in the 2nd. Sua-filo would be tempting, but odds of getting a solid guard later are better than WR in my opinion.

Id like Mathews, if he's gone id take sua-filo. He would improve our run game tremendouslyMulva;1614481 wrote:I still have no idea what to expect from manziel. Biggest boom or bust pick I can remember.

This is pretty accurate. Romo also falls into that category (and I can't believe I'm saying this) but Romo is a better passer.Mulva;1614481 wrote:I still have no idea what to expect from manziel. Biggest boom or bust pick I can remember.

He's a better QB than rapistberger. They trade spots romo would have two SB rings and dumb fucks like you who know nothing about football would be slobbering all over his penis.dlazz;1614494 wrote:3.5 quarters of good football and then pissing it away late in the game?

You literally haven't talked about the browns for about 3 years and now all of a sudden you want to be a hermit douche troll. I don't get it. Did Tiernan or said hire you? It's not a Cleveland thread without some dipshit dedicating his time to be an idiot troll, so congrats on taking the role. The lat 5 people who did are no longer on the site.

The Browns now need to draft WR Marqise Lee, RB Carlos Hyde, S Lamarcus Joyner, WR Allen Robinson, or WR Jordan Matthews and this would be one heckuva draft then for them.

Many times we overvalue, or see every little imperfection, of the "local" guys we get to see more often like guys from OSU. Steelers need secondary help, but the 3-4 defense and the steelers have always been strong at the LB position. With passing attacks getting so short you need speed/burst guys to get pressure.
