This.Starting CB, Bills first round next year and JFF. It's been a good night I'd say.
Nobody expected this... more than we could have hoped for.
...and we still have high picks remaining.

Again, that's not going to happen. Maybe in you're make believe world, things happen like that. But in the real world it doesn't.IggyPride00;1614284 wrote:Benching Johnny works better in theory than in practice.
When the stadium starts chanting his name after Hoyer's first INT the situation will become untenable and you will have to play him.
You don't sign on to Johnny Football and everything that comes with it to have him sitting on the bench behind a journeyman with 3 starts and a busted ACL.
JFF will be given the chance to beat out Hoyer, if he does, great. If he doesn't, he will sit and watch.

Calling it now: Hoyer gets the nod to start. He either gets injured in pre-season or in the first couple weeks of the year. Johnny Football steps in and wins some games, and then they go on a losing streak to finish below .500HighRoller74;1614289 wrote:JFF will be given the chance to beat out Hoyer, if he does, great. I can see that. Maybe not the injury part, but I can see Hoyer struggling, and at week 8 or so Manziel gets the nod.dlazz;1614292 wrote:Calling it now: Hoyer gets the nod to start. You do realize we cheered Couch being injured so that Holcomb could play don't you?HighRoller74;1614289 wrote:Again, that's not going to happen. Maybe in you're make believe world, things happen like that. But in the real world it doesn't.

The back=up QB is always the most popular guy in town, and in this case with it being Johnny Football you can't sit him.
Gordon has openly said he wants Johnny. You think he's going to be content with Hoyer?
When the stadium of people, players, and team owner want Johnny on the field it is going to happen regardless of what Hoyer thought was going to happen this year.

Be nice to see them trade back and target one of the WR's still on the board.
Marquise Lee would look good for the Browns, same with Lattimer. But, I think we could get another WR at 35.

May reel in Carlos Hyde or the dude from BC but with a healthy Lewis, don't see a need there. Get a wide receiver or an offensive lineman.slingshot4ever;1614291 wrote:So will 2nd round pick be a WR or RB?

If the Browns finish above .500 this year I'll leave the OC and never post again. Ever.

Marqise Lee is a player at receiver. Would be quite a haul if they could get back in the first and snag a receiver.

Or the guard from UCLA. A completely nasty run blocker and a future all pro guyIggyPride00;1614305 wrote:Marqise Lee is a player at receiver. Would be quite a haul if they could get back in the first and snag a receiver.

I'm saying, the fans aren't going to turn on him after one bad pass.
And yes Gordon will be content with Hoyer.
If Manziel earns the job he'll start, if he doesn't he won't.
Pettine isn't going to anoint Manziel the chosen one before the pre-season begins, which is what you're implying is gonna happen.
If Manziel wins the job, then by all means I'm gonna be happy to see him out there. I just don't think he will win it this pre season.
If Hoyer struggles this year, then most defintely Manziel should and would get the chance. Just don't see it to star the season.

I wanted Sammy with Manziel and the Browns could have had both. But....it's hard to argue what Farmer did get. This cornerback is supposed to be better than Haden. Hanford and Minnified anyone? Plus, the man took 6 kicks to the house.
Buffalo's number 1 will most likely be in the top ten. Good thing because the Browns will draft 32nd next season.

Goldhammer tweeted that they have already heard Nike may put Johnny up on the old Lebron billboard spot outside the Q.

I'm happy as hell we have Brian Hoyer. You're right Johnny Football will have to beat him out. Hoyer would top out at maybe the 15th best quarterback in the league. Johnny football will be a first ballot HOFer.HighRoller74;1614309 wrote:You do realize you said 1st incompletion, and first int right?

I agree that Manziel is/will be a better a player than Hoyer, i'm just not a fan of anointing someone without winning the job, if there is another capable QB on the roster.
