I'm definitely not going to lose sleep over this situation, and I'm not even slightly upset it happened. I just think it could have been handled in a completely different manner from the get-go from all parties involved. I don't disagree that the cops were justified in the final decision to end the threat, I just disagree that it needed to be escalated that far. In the end I probably blame the father the most. Sure, your kid was stupid to take off in the truck, but just let him stew for a while and get over and he'll come back. Getting the police involved was stupid.

It's a shame this happened, no doubt it could've been avoided on all fronts. Seems like a minor dispute and a young life lost. I'd hate to be this father right now.
