Off topic but if you like Thai food, there is a great Thai/sushi place on Hunt rd.

I'll look it up, I love Thai food. I'm really looking forward to working right next to Bangkok Terrace.

Also something you'll be very happy to have when camping is a few pairs of good synthetic socks.

Darn Tough merino wool socks rule -

I love the REI membership they offer. Only $20 for a lifetime membership and you get a 10% return on most of your purchases at the end of the year.

Cool. But I have no interest in "camping" in a camper.

Looking at tents right now.

I found two that I like, one for $99 and one for $159. Is is better to spend the extra for the extended rainfly? Is it really that big of a deal?

$99:

Not really. It's a pain in the ass. But I do like camping and if I want to camp it will have to be in a camper. Babies don't do well in cold tents.

Justin will do fine in his new sleeping bag.

Also to note Justin speaking about tents- Get a large heavy piece of plastic for underneath the tent.

question - Are you going to go camping where you carry everything on your back? Or camping like at a state park where you unload mass amounts from the trunk of the car?

Marmot is solid. I would do the extended rainfly it is worth it for the one time you are camping in a windy downpour. Just make sure you water proof the tent whenever you haven't camped in awhile as well. I also recommend a tarp for under the tent. Then you roll up the edges and tuck them under so the water goes away from the tent and not under.

I went with the camper. First time I used it, I put a tarp underneath so the water would roll away from it, then I remembered, I'm in a camper, and not a gypsy vagabond that has to worry about sleeping in a tent!
