New 360s don't have this issue.

I know Halo 3 is "old" now, but it still blows all PS3 exclusives out of the water. Now, when God of War comes out for PS3, that might change.

Anyone who says "well I play on PSN all the time and have no problems, I don't see why XBox Live is so much better" has never really played much on XBox Live.

Trust me, I was a Playstation fanboy for years with the PS2, never owned an original XBox, but XBox Live just completely makes PSN look retarded.

From the Netflix, to the Microsoft Media Center, to ease of matching up with friends in games, XBL blows PSN out of the water.

Like I said in the earlier post, if you don't own a Blu Ray player, get a PS3, especially since you mainly only play Madden and such. However, if you do already have a BR player, just get another XBox, the 3 rings of death has been fixed and online gaming is 10x better.

Gears of War....my favorite game

Also, I think the new Grand Theft Auto addons are xbox exclusive, but I might be wrong about that one.
DLC is more often exclusive to 360 than PS3. Last time I check GTA DLC was exclusive to 360.

360 has Gears of War, Mass Effect, Left 4 Dead, Halo, Crackdown as the 'main' exclusives.

PS3 has Little Big Planet, Resistance, Killzone, Uncharted, God of War, Infamous as the main exclusives.

It's a toss up really depending on what you like. I own/will own every game listed above.

Last time I saw a statistic comparing the amount of exclusives it was somethine Xbox had 160 and PS3 had 120...But that may have changed.

I agree with the last poster in saying that Xbox Live makes PSN look retarded....It really does if you have played on both extensively....

Better platform is PS3 by far. the technology is more advanced and not as outdated as Xbox's. some of the new PS3 games are only just starting to utilize what the PS3 can do.

Better online experience, Xbox 360.

So you basically have to decide what you are going to do the most with your system.

I've got Netflix with my PS3, can also rent or buy almost ANY new movie or tv show I want straight from PSN. Also have about 20 demos I've downloaded, a couple PS1 games, old sega games, and new movie trailers. I've played Halo once online (which was WAY overrated) so I can't say much other than I had no problem the hour I spent earlier today playing COD online with my PS3. For being free, there is nothing wrong with it.

A lot of J-RPGs are 360-exclusive. Lost Odyssey (good), Blue Dragon (blah) and others like the newish Star Ocean game (will be released on PS3 next year, but was exclusive for a year). I tend to review a number of games like this, so the 360 fit my needs more.

As far as the more big, promoted releases, I think the Fable games are XBox exclusives.

Question: When did the 3 rings of death get fixed? I bought my 360 last year around Christmas, so is it good or is that something I'll have to worry about down the road?

Not sure when they fixed the issue, but there is still the worry of an E74 error, which is not covered under the 3 year warranty. Three of my friends have had their consoles fixed for that error.

I'd go with 360, it's online service is much better, even worth the whopping $4 a month. The RROD thing is mostly taken care of with the last two iterations of the console having significantly smaller/more efficient processors. The current version on shelves has a reduced size GPU as well as CPU which makes it significantly cooler/more reliable.

I really love all the Live features (cross game chat/parties/etc) and the games as well.

Just get whichever one you feel suits your needs but realize that none of the consoles are definitively better than the other ones. If you want your console to also play HD movies frequently than the PS3 probably suits you, if you really like a full featured online service than the 360 might be more your style.

It's never been "fixed" but it's been contained a bit more.

Just because you haven't had problems doesn't mean anything.

I'm on my 4th 360 and there was a reason that the 360 had a national failure rate of 30%.

RROD, E-74 and now the NEW problem with the disc drive have proven that the 360 is made with terrible hardware.

Agreed. The game selection on the 360 is far greater than PS3. Plus, I have heard from a few people and there is even a thread on here about the free internet on the PS3. I've heard from a few friends that the internet isn't as good as the 360.
This is false. Both systems have nearly the same amount of games, despite the PS3 coming out a year later.

Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted 1, Uncharted 2 (game of the year), Metal Gear Solid 4, God of War, MLB the Show, Resistance 1, Resistance 2, Gran Turismo, etc...

I also think Sports games are better on the PS3 because of the controller.

AND finally, the best graphical performance on a console also goes to PS3.

You can tell a difference between exclusives graphically. Uncharted 2 was ridiculous.

I think this video sums it up perfectly, imo..

Resistance was/is a poor attempt at beating Halo.
LittleBigPlanet is a great concept but I couldn't get into it.
MSG4 was decent.
The Show is ok but nothing great.
Gran Turismo prologe or whatever was the biggest waste of $20 I had ever spent on Amazon. GT:5 better be F'n good whenever they decide to finish it.

Even Netflix the company admits that the current quality on PSN isn't near the Netflix quality on XBox Live. They said this will be updated in the future to be about equal.

You can rent or buy from XBL. You can download demos, old games, etc on XBL no problem.

The bigger differences is the chatting while playing. Its mediocre at best on PSN, clunky, can't talk across games, can't auto invite friends to games, "parties" of friends are nearly impossible especially if your party is switching froms ay Halo 3 to COD5, you can do this easily in XBL, its impossible in PSN.

If you play online games a lot with "friends", PSN basically sucks in this realm and XBL works seamlessly.
