Roethlisberger is the only constant positive. I had a convo with some friends yesterday regarding his future in Pittsburgh. Going into "rebuild" mode is imminent and he maybe has 3-4 years left....of course it depends if he can stay healthy. What are the chances they try to unload him and start planning for the future? Several teams out there are desperate for some solid QB play and he could probably step in immediately and improve their team. It sucks to think about, but its part of the game.
Steelers dont go big in FA, and have to let big guys leave in the past but they have a good amount of players with solid contracts right now taht is eating up the cap and killing the depth. In the past if a guy got hurt someone could easily step in. With no $$$, low draft picks, and some misses this team is severly handcuffed.
IF they can fix the OL......that is the first priority.
Second, is an OCoord. Many of us wanted Arians out...we got our wish, and now look. The front office messed up when they did not include BR in the hiring of the OC. He should have had some input.
The defense was said to be old a couple of years ago. They have attempted to get younger on the DL, and the LB's are thin now at talent with replacements not doing wellfor Harrison and on the inside. TP is gettin gup there, but still solid. Clark is old...Taylor is still solid but making alot of $$$.
Just alot of bad shit going on.
Mentioned it before....I love the 3-4 as I would rather have more athletes on the field and makes you more versatile, but is the bllitzing scheme hasnt been fooling people the last couple of years. the DL was never asked to sack the QB. it was always the LB's beating ya on the outside, or an elaborate blitz that fools the OL and QB. Those fooling days seem to be dwindling.
