Also, I can tell I am going to like this way too much. I can see myself looking for games for my players on Sunday to see if I can win the week or at least move up to 2 or 3 and cheering them on in my living room.
First of all, this thread is stressful. Over the last several picks, I've found myself not breathing each time I click on the thread until I see who has been picked.

And I also agree. I'm really glad I decided to do this. Really great idea, Az. Thanks for doing this. As a bonus, it's really got this forum moving early this season, which is great.

I mean lets be real. Most of us are going to follow it closely anyway, will do the pick'ems and then do madness pools. Might as well have something else to pull for when that random Sunday night game is on.

Also, lets start a vote for 20$, 10$ or dont care.

I vote 20$ with 5$ each week to the winner of that given week.

Thats a payout of 240. 14 weeks is 70$. 170$ left. 30$ for the overall winner, 15$ for 2nd. That leaves 125$. Id then go $75, $30, $20. Payouts outside of 5$ per week are negotiable, but I say at least 20$ entry fee to make it so we are playing for something and the week to week scoring has more of a reward.

$20 is fine. I say $40 to overall and $20 to second though, then $60-$30-$20? Just keeps everything even and then second overall at least gets their money back.

I like that Terry, to be honest, your odds are pretty good to get more money "postseason" anyway if you finish 1 in regular season.

Thats 5 for 20$. 2 more for 20$ and we have our buy in set, and it looks like the payout set as well (combining my initial layout with Terrys improvements).

Count me in for 20. I also like the weekly payout. Combine that with the weekly roto scoring, it's going to actually create some chatter on a weekly basis on here, instead of just "wait til the end of the year and add everything."

There are ways around a PayPal "fee". But if you dont want to do them, I suggest that you wait until the end of the year to pay people (unless they want their 5 right then lol) it will eliminate the fees on a weekly basis.

I say all payouts should be at the end of the year, we can just keep track of them and add them up.

Azu, are you going to keep track of everyones scores? I can help keep score for people, or at least be a second person to check for accuracy purposes. I'm thinking a fairly simple excel spreadsheet should be pretty simple to do. There are 144 players though and will usually have 2 games a week, so it will be time consuming, but I could do them on a Saturday or Sunday while just watching games.

Yeah, I'm going to try to keep track, but it may get a bit tedious because there's so many damn stats. However, it's simple input/output on Excel and I already have it set up.

I'd ask everyone to at least somewhat keep track of their own, so I don't completely butcher any of it.

Also, can you just select "gift or service" and bypass Paypal fees?

I'm fine with $20 with the weekly winners and then end of season winners as well.

Ive got my team in a spreadheet already (well my 3 drafted players). Ill be keeping track of my own.

Im not sure about the fees, cause I have PayPal linked to my bank account, which is automatically no fees. So I have never had to deal with it.

Yeah I plan on keeping up with all teams so if we have multiple people doing it I think we should be ok.

Az,

can you make, or I can, a separate roster thread? We can just all make one post and edit our rosters as we go on.

Good idea, actually. Go for it, and we can all just have a SINGLE post in there with our rosters.

So payment, scoring and payout have all been ironed out.

Now we need to move onto add/drop. How many? Is there a fee? Is there a small fee early and it rises with each add?

Personally, I like the idea of trying to keep the drafted rosters the same. Id say limit the adds/drops to 3-5 aside from injuries. If an injury happens, you can keep him on the "IR" until they are back and pick someone else up "for free". But that person (or the injured person) must be dropped as soon as the injured person is healthy and plays in a game.

But, I am not opposed to anything. I just feel strongly about a free add for injuries and possibly a free add/drop to start if we elect to charge for the subsequent ones.

I don't like add/drop at all

I think unless someone gets injured for more than x amount of games, can you add/drop and yes you have to pay a fee, like $5

I agree with this athough I think $5 is a little steep for an add. I'd probably have it at 2 bucks.

I think we should allow adds/drops, only because these are college kids and things can happen. I also like the idea of paying for moves though. I mean, we should allow for moves if you have a devastating injury like ACL or Achilles or something, but outside of that, I'd be down for like $2/move.

No because by week 4, someone can just add the best players by paying. It makes the draft essentially pointless.

Just stick with who you draft. IMO

So, you're against replacing a guy who breaks a leg or blows out a knee? You know it's going to happen. With weekly scoring, that's going to basically put that person without a chance every week.

Now, I'd be in favor of having some rule where once a player is dropped, he's DONE for the year for everyone AND there has to be an injury (to be defined). No dropping someone just because he sucks.
