My only opinion on adds/drops is that injuries should provide some wiggle room. I'm fine with limiting it.

Not sure how to handle add/drops. Injuries should definitely be a reason for a "free add" with 1 IR spot (you get the pick-up, but when the player is healthy, your "add" must be dropped). But if you have 2 injuries, you either drop 1 or you ride it out till he is healthy... (flexible on this, 2 IR spots isnt a terrible idea).

Id say something like 3-5 adds for the year. This allows for us to add players who blow up or drop players who underachieve, but makes you think twice before doing so. Because the amount is limited, you wont be so cavalier with roster decisions. You will want to make sure you are doing the right thing, etc. Id lean more towards 3 for this than 5.

In the rare case someone wants to add the same player as someone else, we should have a timeframe where first to post gets it. Monday from 8am-6pm or something along those lines sounds good. Gives people some time before work and the timeframe is long enough to get your adds in throughout the day.

What about $10, but then a bidding system for adds/drops? Like a 24-hour window and highest bid (minimum is like $.50/player) gets him? It could make the final pot more intriguing.

Also, we all know that given the lack of information and craziness of this sport, there will be half-a-dozen guys who are unknowns now, completely blow up. Especially if we allowed people to add another wild card or something.

I'm more than fine with $20. At least there's something at stake for all of our posts on this freaking forum!

I think the bidding system is fine, but it can be tough for someone to keep track of. 20$ will make the pot more interesting than add ons. I doubt anyone pays 10$ in player add-ons...

Yeah. I'm doing my first FFB league this year with it being $2.00 per player transaction. The buy-in was only $20, but thus far through 7 weeks, there have been 41 moves already. It's kind of ironic too, because it seems that the more moves is correlated with teams who are also struggling. However, they are also drawn to the idea that really trying to improve week by week just to get in the playoffs (we only have 4 teams of 10 making it) could mean all of that money comes back. It's a cool concept, IMO.

Scoring question....

If I lead in scoring week whatever I get 12 points? If I'm 2nd in rebounding I get 11 points, if I'm last in steals I get 1 point?

There is no weekly winners per say, but total points are added up from each week to determine final four or whatnot?

Nope, you basically add your weekly totals up and plug them into that formula. Whoever has the most points, gets 12. The least, 1. So, at the end of the regular season, you will add your total up and the highest 4 make the Final Four.

It's like a roto fantasy league, but tallies are done each week instead of based on yearly totals.

I don't really know if I like that

How else would we do it? Aside from playing someone on a weekly basis?

Cumulative season points total? Just add up the player scores for 14 weeks, then take the top 4 total scores.

Let's say these are the top 2 scores weeks 1 and 2:

player a 600
player b 450

Week 2

Player a has put up 145 more points, but based on weekly scoring they each have 23.

Right, but that kinda goes both ways.

I like the 12 points for a weeks winner. Makes the actual weeks mean something as opposed to an entire season only. It makes a big week from your players mean more because you might get 12 points, whereas if you wait till the end, it will average out.

Ok good. I actually like the weekly roto scoring. Should be fun.

It's flexible either way. Like the buy-in, player drops, etc...lets hammer it out soon. That just seemed like the best option to keep it a mix of weekly vs totals scoring. If we strictly go by the week, then overall performance matters less, as all that matters is having great games the right week. If we go strictly by the totals, it's going to be more about mass stats (most minutes, most games played, etc). The other way is a mix between the two.

Maybe we need some polls for the buy-in, player adds/drops, scoring rules and the like. I'm fine with whatever gets a majority vote.

I do a NFL Pickem were the buyin is 51 dollars a person. 1st place each week gets 16 and 2nd gets 6. Then $5 every week is rolled over to whoever gets the most correct for the year.

Maybe we could do something like winner each week gets X amount, Winner of all weeks gets X amount and then Winner of the playoffs gets the rest(which would be a majority amount)? Don't really know if it could work for this but figured it could be an idea.

Dont like that. My opinion though, obviously others may.

But I have been drafting based upon original scoring settings. I think it would be a little unfair if we all of a sudden change scoring in a major overhaul...I dont know, whatever we decide on I'd like to know before my next pick

Well the scoring setting isn't changing in my scenario. I still like how each week you get ranked on how your players did and the the 4 people with a most go into a playoff it's how I've been drafting my team as well.

I was just giving another payout option. Which makes both weekly and the total season scoring mean something.

The total pot is 120. Say we go with 14 weeks in the regular season if each weekly winner gets say 2 bucks that's 28 bucks. Then say whoever has the most overall points for the season gets their 10 bucks. Give 2nd say 17 that would leave the winner to get $65 plus any other add money would go directly to the winners pot. Don't really know if this would be worth it since doesn't paypal charge like transfer fees and stuff? (I very rarely ever use paypal haha).

Also just wanted to say that I have no problems with how the payout is currently setup was just throwing another idea out there haha.
