Reds decide losing is easier. Lose final 6 games of season and off to the beach they go

Dusty should be gone (and Jacoby) if that happens.

We need a WDD Tuesday

If we don't win this play in game this will be a complete step back of a season.

This season is a failure if they don't at least make the NLCS.

I'll get a mild sense of enjoyment if someone other than the Cardinals or Braves win it all.

Rays/rangers tie gives Tribe a big advantage in the play-in game. Rays/Rangers will have to throw their best to get there.

I'm not sure I care for this wild card set up. It's okay if you're the second team like the Reds... Under under the old setup you're not even in the playoffs. But if you're the first wildcard team like Indians, you have to win the wild card game just to get in to the Division series...leaving you even more disadvantaged when you go up and play the number one seed@ their home field the first 2 games of the series.

Rangers/Rays isn't playoffs....but feels like it for sure.

1-0 Rays

Pierzynski called out on a ball 4 inches outside after a long battle.

Big cheers for Cruz

2 pickoffs by David Price

The Rangers are definitely the Reds of the AL and Ron fits the bill well too.

Wow...an amazing play was actually a single that would've scored two for the Rays....ump blew it but where that ball ended up seemed impossible that it short hopped into there.

Joe Maddon keeping with Price because he knows what he's getting.....bringing in the closer is somewhat an unknown.

Nelson Cruz the last out.....karma

Pretty sure it's Cobb vs Salazar on Wednesday.

Now, that's some young arm talent. Nice to see a manager giving the ball to young guys in big games and opting for what matters in October...talent/stuff.

You could throw Bronson Arroyo or some bullshit...

Rays pitching set-up well for their ace, Price, should they get past the Indians. Pitching on regular rest he'd be up for games 2 and 5 in Boston.

Why risk a young guy only going 2 or 3 innings and blowing up when you know Bronson can pitch 6 or 7 and give up 4? No brainer to go with the safe option.

Fuck Dusty Baker.

Because if you play 162 playoff games, that's a 4-ish ERA!

Solid. Innings Eater. Worth 13M/yr according to Bronson!

I don't want him to pitch either....but didn't Bronson start Game 2 last year and give up just 1 or 2 hits in 7 innings?

Yes. He was good. That was in SF, and he got a 5-0 lead after 2 innings.

It's a lot different in GABP against St. Louis, who he has like a 5.8 career ERA against.

I'll go on record, to the shocker of most, I'd rather start Leake...

Man, I'm starting to think it'd be doing you guys a favor if Pittsburgh does eliminate you. You'll get to go through the playoffs without angsting over how Dusty will ruin your lives with his management decisions.

So I'm cheering for that. Not for me, but for all of you!
