It says Chicago is the new murder capital. If they measured it in per capita, it would be Flint, MI. But Flint, MI isn't the new murder capital.
"Murder Capital" is an arbitrary term. Again, I'm no suggesting Chicago has a crime problem. However, the motivation for Drudge and Fox to emphasize it constantly is because Emmanual is the mayor. Chicago has had much higher murder rates in decades past than it does today.

From the Bloomberg article above:

"Chicago, with a population of 2.7 million, had 506 murders in 2012, the highest per capita among the four most populous U.S. cities"

Only on the OC-where people have to be right now matter what-would a thread about 13 people in Chicago getting shot-would go 3 pages mostly arguing about the semantics of whether Chicago is the murder capital of USA.

It's an internet message board - what else is it for if not prompting debate? What kind of responses to this topic do you expect, "Oh, that's really sad"? How is that interesting?
