Comcast just tried to raise my monthly rate of ~$40 a month to $70. I told them to GFT and switched to a local provider, little more than I was paying but happy to tell Comcast to GFT. What do you guys pay for internet?

The big cable companies have lost their mind.

I had phone/internet/TV (just regular basic cable) and my bill had gotten to like $170 a month with Time Warner.

WOW! had been sending flyers like crazy, and the same package with them was going to cost me $95 a month.

I called Time Warner and told them if they wouldn't find a way to bring that bill down I was leaving, and they didn't care.

2 months later I am getting bombarded with Time Warner flyers offering me the same package I had with them for $90 a month for 2 years.

It boggled my mind the way they ignore you when you call and tell them you are going to leave, but the second you do they can't wait to give you a massive rate reduction.

They have been raping and pillaging for so long on price it is nice to finally have a local competitor offering a reasonable price. Just on my little street we have 6 houses leave Time Warner when they realized they could cut their bill almost in half for comparable service.

Happy to see you left, as it is the only thing that will wake up some of the large cable companies that infinite price increases are not realistic.

Around $45 for Time Warner.

I just cancelled service and waiting for Verizon to install FiOS. With Verizon I believe internet is arounD $50 by itself. We're getting internet and 200+ channels for $116. No BS modem rental either.

So fucking happy. I DESPISE Time Warner.

Fifty-eight fucking dollars. It jumped from $45 to $58 with no warning a while ago. I need to call and threaten to cancel if they don't drop it back to $45.

I am going to have to look into things locally and see if there's anything because that's where I'm at with Time Warner. Started out at about 108 for 18 months, then 118 for 12 months and then 168 eventually. Fuck that shit.

No clue how that shit is legal. Internet in the beginning was like $20 a month, with increased providers, not sure how it's gotten more expensive.

They tried to tell me that my mbps increased from 12 to 25 and I haven't been paying for it, while on the phone I ran an internet speed test, right at 12 mbps. Told him this and that I didn't need 25 mbps feel free to take it back down. Didn't ask for it, don't want it.

We pay 45 through Time Warner. And they, without notice, just upped our modem rental 2 bucks.

Yup, just saw that. I'm half tempted to cancel and sign up with my name. Wonder if I can get the new customer benefits? Currently it's in my gf's name.

That is almost exactly what happened to me. They just exponentially jack the price up seemingly yearly now while at the same time making in internet slower as well as taking channels away from the basic package.

I actually sent the "please come back" letter Time Warner sent to back to them with a short letter letting them know that I would still be a TW customer had they not arrogantly blown me off when I offered them a right of first refusal to match WOW!'s price before I switched.

I am just one customer, but I know there are thousands just like me fed up with huge price increases for less service every year who are finally doing something about it and switching to cheaper alternatives.

Eh idk how much mine is as its in a bundle deal and isn't split out on my bill. But If I had to guess I'd say I pay around 45-50 bucks for it.

All I know is Cable/Internet is much better down here in Alabama with xfinity/WOW! than when I was in Ohio with Time Warner.

$59 with Charter cable. Unfortunately the only other local ISP is the electric company and they charge about $65 a month.

Guess I'm getting a "deal".
