Sensitivity training is bullshit.

Completely disrespectful of the office and that's clearly not an appropriate venue for political satire (not that what they did would qualify as satire, anyway). And for that reason some firings are probably justified.

On the other hand, if Obama wants to be a celebrity, maybe he's deserving of ridicule like other celebrities.

Nothing. In this case the rodeo clown is performing at a state government sponsored event. Probably getting federal subsidies and they are pissing down their legs in fear of losing them. The reaction is typical government BS.

It was almost assuredly offensive to a number of people in attendance who had no expectation or interest in being subjected to political humor. And that's why it's inappropriate, and that's why the firings are warranted.

I am sure there were some in attendance that were offended. But if you take the stereotypical makeup of a crowd that one may think would attend a rodeo event; country boys, hicks, rednecks, etc... You know the type of people that may get a kick out of making a little fun of Obama. And most of them probably did. This guy thought he was playing to the crowd. This really goes to the age we live in where a local event can offend millions not in attendance but watching a youtube link of it all over the nation.

And calling for that POTUS to be trampled? It went a little bit further than a caricature mask.

And I'd say it's unlikely at least 20% of people in attendance didn't vote for Obama (even in a mostly white/rural crowd), and I think a good number of them would have been justifiably offended (there's only one voter demographic I know of that consistently votes with over 70% uniformity).

It was stupid and insensitive and they got what they deserved.

Offended just because they voted for Obama? Maybe some. I guess I just am not that offended at people lampooning a politician I voted for even if its construed as inappropriate by some.

I saw no disrespect for the office of POTUS. Just some not so politically astute individual thinking he was going to get some laughs from the "homeboys". The idea that some unknown country hick can lower the office with his clown routine is laughable. The only person that can lower the office is the person sitting behind the desk. But hey I guess the power of Youtube and amateur media is greater than I thought.

This kind of thing happened all the time when "W" was in office and we rarely if ever heard a peep from anyone about it.

Yet when a rodeo clown plays to a rodeo crowd by wearing a mask of our first half-black POTUS then the PC crowd goes ballistic.

I'm not sure who is worse; the rodeo clown or the PC clowns.

Was this poor taste? Yes. Do I think the dude should have been fired? Nope.
