People losing jobs and resigning...

Don't fuck with Chicago
LOL...and the announcer asking for him to get rundown might be getting an unpleasant visit from the Secret Service.Mohican00;1486543 wrote:they were pretty much asking for it......no sympathy here
Nothing. In this case the rodeo clown is performing at a state government sponsored event. Probably getting federal subsidies and they are pissing down their legs in fear of losing them. The reaction is typical government BS.bases_loaded;1486548 wrote:What's the difference between rodeo clowns and a skit on SNL?
I am sure there were some in attendance that were offended. But if you take the stereotypical makeup of a crowd that one may think would attend a rodeo event; country boys, hicks, rednecks, etc... You know the type of people that may get a kick out of making a little fun of Obama. And most of them probably did. This guy thought he was playing to the crowd. This really goes to the age we live in where a local event can offend millions not in attendance but watching a youtube link of it all over the nation.gut;1486554 wrote:It was almost assuredly offensive to a number of people in attendance who had no expectation or interest in being subjected to political humor. And that's why it's inappropriate, and that's why the firings are warranted.

I edited my post. Lampoon is a better term because that is the intent.bases_loaded;1486572 wrote:Bingo
And calling for that POTUS to be trampled? It went a little bit further than a caricature mask.majorspark;1486571 wrote:Also I am betting this is not the first time a caricature mask has been used to lampoon a president.
Literally? I am not easily offended by bad humor. But I would guess most in attendance that were offended knew it was bad humor.gut;1486577 wrote:And calling for that POTUS to be trampled?
I agree which is why I edited my post and used the term lampoon a more harsh form of satire.gut;1486577 wrote:It went a little bit further than a caricature mask.
Offended just because they voted for Obama? Maybe some. I guess I just am not that offended at people lampooning a politician I voted for even if its construed as inappropriate by some.gut;1486577 wrote:And I'd say it's unlikely at least 20% of people in attendance didn't vote for Obama (even in a mostly white/rural crowd), and I think a good number of them would have been justifiably offended
Well I am pretty sure this clown is not taking his act to the Harlem arts festival.gut;1486577 wrote:(there's only one voter demographic I know of that consistently votes with over 70% uniformity).
This is why some are being hustled off to reeducation camps, I mean sensitivity training.gut;1486577 wrote:It was stupid and insensitive and they got what they deserved.
Is it an overreaction? Yes. Was it expected? Yes. Do the sponsors care, and do they matter? Yes.majorspark;1486593 wrote: This is why some are being hustled off to reeducation camps, I mean sensitivity training.
It was an overreaction because modern day internet amateur media puts it on the national scene. Creating larger masses of the "offended".gut;1486661 wrote:Is it an overreaction? Yes.
No, I doubt the perpetrator of this horrible crime had any idea what the ramifications of his act would bring.gut;1486661 wrote:Was it expected? Yes.
Sponsors always care about the bottom line.gut;1486661 wrote:Do the sponsors care, and do they matter? Yes.
I saw no disrespect for the office of POTUS. Just some not so politically astute individual thinking he was going to get some laughs from the "homeboys". The idea that some unknown country hick can lower the office with his clown routine is laughable. The only person that can lower the office is the person sitting behind the desk. But hey I guess the power of Youtube and amateur media is greater than I thought.gut;1486661 wrote:And even if I think Obama is an unqualified failure and believe he has lowered the office...the office still deserves respect. Mohican00 nailed it => no sympathy.
Well...there's a fine line between bigoted and hateful. It was stupid...and ignorant. And if you think about that being George W...majorspark;1486664 wrote:...Just some not so politically astute individual thinking he was going to get some laughs from the "homeboys"..
This kind of thing happened all the time when "W" was in office and we rarely if ever heard a peep from anyone about it.gut;1486668 wrote:Well...there's a fine line between bigoted and hateful. It was stupid...and ignorant. And if you think about that being George W...
Well when the leftists are dealing with a string of scandals, unpopular political choices, and real-world issues they love to deflect public attention by capitalizing on STUPID non-issues like these.Belly35;1486676 wrote:What happen to freedom ...speech, expression and right to voice political discord ....
