More deserving than FSU anyway. The MAC is garbage, but at least if NIU gets a bid, they will be able to say they beat Ball State, Toledo, Iowa and Bowling Green, all bowl teams.

Oregon State leads the Civil War by 5. Ducks ball, about a minute left.

I'd argue the MAC is the best mid-major conference. Obviously that doesn't compare to the the power conferences excluding the AAC. If the big east/AAC or even big 10 (last year) had teams that were better than mediocre, NIU would never have played in a BCS game. You can hate on them for the easy schedule, but I'll bet BG and Ball St win their bowl game no matter what team they are matched up against. Both are good teams. That Iowa win looks better weekly. Iowa has losses to Wisconsin, MSU, OSU, and NIU. Not too bad.

It might be now.

However, with the poaching of C-USA by the AAC, the MWC by the Pac 12, the WAC by the Big XII, the dip by Boise and BYU going independent, mid-major football is actually pretty crappy now.

For the past decade prior to a few years ago, there was almost always a mid-major team who was arguably top 5 in the country and proved themselves in BCS games.

TCU, Boise State, Utah and a few others in the C-USA and MAC who never got a BCS shot.

I'd agree with that..Boise is in the MWC but have fallen to an average to slightly above average mid-major. I wonder if Utah and TCU are regretting moving. Though more money, both programs are largely irrelevant now on a national scale.

BG actually stands a great shot to win. Best D in the conference and a great rushing attack, could totally stop that offense

It's not going to happen, but if Auburn beats Alabama AND Missouri, you're going to see a big number of voters (and computer polls) have them jump Ohio State.

Their BCS margin is too great to overcome with only 2 weeks left in the season but it will be a debate.

What the fuck?? In no way was that a fair catch signal. Real, real bad officiating.

When you waive the hands like an incomplete signal, you're also giving yourself up. Right call.

I agree, it's not going to happen. As much as you could argue it "should", the BCS has never been about who has the best resume or the best team. It's always been about "the system." If OSU gets to the title game this year, they worked the system to perfection.

That's what's nice about this new committee next year, they will start to factor in that stuff about team's that are just gaming the system playing cream puffs every week because they are in a poor conference and that way they can be unbeaten every year.

It will stop rewarding teams that don't play anyone out of conference.

Their secondary has some holes. LSU and A&M exposed it big time. Their offense now has to carry them often times.

As we speak, Nick Marshall just toasted Bama's back 7.

Unbeaten in a top 5 conference will ALWAYS make the playoff. Regardless of who they play.

I actually don't think alabamas D is any good.

Bama looks so tense. It's even worse than the LSU game.
