Just rewatched the "ricin" scene

Not as bad as you all said/it seemed the 1st time.

Huel is handed a note by Saul even though Saul gives him an address verbally (this, you would assume had the note to lift the weed). The weed is lifted. Jesse realizes his weed is gone in the same manner he realized his cigs were gone.

Then, he puts it together, which isnt far fetched imo. He doesnt say the ricin was used to poison Brett. He just says Mr. White did it, and Saul helped. Hell, Jesse is an idiot when it comes to all that shit anyway. He might not know the ricin wasnt used just because it wasnt found in the body or whatever.

Either way, second time around, I didnt think it was that unrealistic for Jesse to realize Saul/Huel boosted his cigs earlier and because of all the lies and deception and the way Mr. White found it in a place Jesse had looked a few times. I can definitely see him realizing all that was a lie and that Mr. White had them boost the ricin.

I hate that they have turned Pinkman into a punk rat these last episodes.

He might want to kill Walt, but working with the DEA was never Jesse's style.

I feel kind of bad for Walt right now. He had no intention of killing Jesse tonight, but Pinkman got the wrong idea.

Usually hate Skyler, but love that she has totally come to the dark side now.

What choice did he have? Why would he go to prison to protect Walt? Neither of them have the experiences which would make me think they believe in some sort of criminals code.

Still doesn't explain why Saul cares if Jesse shows up with pot or not. At any rate we got another filler episode with random conveniences, coincidences and misunderstandings. I understand that set-ups are needed, but hopefully next week will be better.

Because his guy is very sketchy and Saul doesn't know how he'd react to Jesse having an illegal substance on him or being high. Saul is just trying to eliminate potential problems.

How would he react? Kill him? Saul doesn't care about Jesse. If Saul is that concerned about himself then just have Huell beat the crap out of Jesse or just call it off entirely rather than relying on the old switcheroo again.

I'm still a fan of the show, but like The Wire's last season it isn't as sharp as previous seasons, perhaps because the writers weren't sure it would be continued and had to tie up loose ends on the fly. Breaking Bad has never been particularly realistic, but the entirety of Season 5 is all over the place. And unless Walt is some super-intelligent genius and has a hidden agenda why did he fail to instruct Saul and his crew to look at Hank's house as well?

He thinks Hank has been totally neutralized at this point with that tape. He no longer considers him a threat I think.

I suppose that's valid, but again it just shows how up and down the characters have acted this season just to keep the plot moving. If this was anywhere near reality, when Walt saw that Hank read his Whitman book and planted a tracker, he should have just pulled a Gus, not do anything and go to work as usual and maybe after a month or so announce to the family that his midlife crisis is over and needs to trade in his 300 for a minivan as Holly is getting bigger - and laugh at Hank's reaction. I'm looking forward to the next few weeks, but I'm very glad this is the last season.

No. The guy wouldn't kill him but perhaps not provide the service of disappearing Jesse which was the whole point. Why would Saul have Huell beat the crap out of Jesse? That would accomplish absolutely nothing.

If it meant taking the mary jane it would. Just don't let Jesse leave until he gives it up. That made more sense than the plot device.

I do enjoy the show, but it is getting old with the contrivances and coincidences. I still enjoy if it lasted beyond this season it would turn into a Carol Burnett show skit with all of the near misses and misunderstandings.

Beating up Jesse doesn't accomplish a fucking thing. Lifting the weed was his only play.

Jesse doesn't go, Walt ain't happy with Saul. Jesse isn't going if Saul has his weed taken or if he is beat up.

How on earth does beating the piss out of someone you know to be erratic to get his weed a better option than using your skilled pickpocket employee who has successfully stolen from this client before? There's no benefit to your method, you're imagining the contrivance here.

I said I enjoy the show. I just point out its flaws, like many others do. And who is arguing? Just because people don't always agree doesn't mean they are arguing.

Why don't you take a chill pill se-alum? Jesus, you got rid of Fly4Fun who actually tolerated debate, yet you and other mods act in more d-bag levels than he did.

Quite an ending, along with the scenes leading up to it (the set-up was fantastic and plausible, even if Walt fell a little too easily and completely for it).

But I have to say, I hate that this final season started with those house scenes. It ruins most of the suspense with Pinkman and the gasoline, and then again tonight. I want to guess what might happen, not guess at how they are going to write what I know happens.

Hank told Marie he loved her and that he wouldnt be home for awhile.

He is either dead (obvious choice) after a few minutes next week...or...Vince Gilligan pulled a foreshadowing over on us and didnt actually foreshadow shit.

My guess is that they are dead.

I think Jesse is going to sneak off during the fire fight. Hank and Gomez are too badly outgunned to survive that in any way that isn't insulting to the viewer.

I COULD see them agreeing to hand over Walt in exchange for their lives (or perhaps the money). Jesse could walk away in that deal, too, as him testifying at this point doesn't really matter. There's several things wrong with that whole scenario, but kind of par for the course for the wrap-up here.
