They are screwed if for no other reason than Todd's gang has them totally out gunned, and Hank/Gomez will have fired off all their rounds leaving them as sitting ducks.

Marie does know that Hank was with Walt though, so if for some reason they don't come home you can bet she will be telling everyone who will listen where to look.

It was terrible that neither Hank or Gomez took one bullet standing out in the open against the firepower they were up against.

Hank dying is something I kind of expected as necessary to Walt's ultimate punishment. You can see even now he still cared about Hank as family, and Hank dying will not only wound Walt deeply, but also cost him the rest of his family.

I assume one of the 3 has to walk away from this because no one else knows about their investigation. That is except Marie, but she doesn't have anything to send Walt on the run or lead to his house being tagged with Heisenberg.

Yeah, that was kind of poor. Also poor was the way they stood there like Butch and Sundance for several seconds.

Yeah, that was totally unrealistic given the amount of firepower going at them.

I don't usually nitpick about that kind of stuff, but there is no way it would even be possible that one of them didn't take a bullet.

She can't prove anything. Doesn't know exactly where they are, either. By the time she even realizes Hank is missing there won't be anything there to find but tire tracks (and buried money that no one else knows about).

Something else that bothers me about the shoot out...The Brotherhood SEES Walt in the truck. They NEED Walt alive. Are we to believe they are really that frickin' incompetent to shoot up the truck with Walt in it? This is the same gang that coordinated 9 hits - across different prisons - within minutes of each other.

Todd: "Ummm, sorry boss, I was trying to shoot the guys behind the truck"

I just watched the episode and think the rest of the series is going to go down something like this:

Hank and Gomez die. Who knows about Pinkman. But they die and the gang saves Walt. All the family knows that it was Walt's fault Hank dies, so Walt has Saul contact the identity chance dude and gets the fuck out of New Mexico. Walt comes back with all that ammo, bombs, and/or whatever it showed in the first episode of season 5 to take out Todd's gang.

Actually makes a lot of sense. Also, while Walt is "in hiding" maybe he spends some time in seedy areas where he sees up close and personal what meth does and has some sort of epiphany/salvation (and Hank dying is probably a necessary part of that epiphany). Taking out Todd's gang is the only way to bury the poison he created forever.

As for Jesse, he's out of the line of fire. Either he escapes during the fire fight (but that gang would track him down easily enough), or Walt convinces them to spare him. "Jesse is family", and at this point Jesse being dead doesn't help Walt.

Had a new thought. I'm thinking Hank and Gomez die but Jesse gets away. Walter has second thoughts about killing Jesse and the gang trips. They want Walter to cook for them but he turns down the deal he made. (He shook Todd's uncle's hand about the deal remember) and the gang in a furious rage kills Wa'lts family. Goodbye Skyler and Walt Jr. and baby. Walter shows up later finds Jesse and they both take out those bastards.

If you remember what the house (and pool) looked like at the start of this last season, a good bit of time is going to pass between Walt's return to town.

I think at this point Walt has no real reason to kill Jesse - he was only going to do that out of self-preservation and that ship has sailed. It's now just Lydia and the gang. Obviously, one way or another Walt is going to end-up cooking for the brotherhood. So think about the last cook we just saw with Todd, and then put 2-and-2 together with the ricin.

Although I'm still keeping fingers crossed for Cartagena. I figured they would have known who Walt was and eventually come after him for killing Gus. But soon they'll have to know - the whole world knows - that Walt is Heisenberg.

I think this has a lot of potential. I always really enjoyed the quirky characters and bizarre cases of LA Law, Ally McBeal and Boston Legal, among others.

It's a proven formula, and this can be even better because Saul is absolutely unethical, if not willing to actually break the law.

Walt cost himself $70 million opening his big mouth trying to save Hank.

Those guys had no clue the money was out there. No way he could have thought they would let Hank actually live.

Walt clearly didn't learn his lesson about "half measures". He should have laid waste to Pinkman himself out there in the desert. This will come back to bite him in the ass.
