When that happens, there are always hitmen...
I watched the Italian giallo Twitch of the Death Nerve last night and it displays a very effective method for handling the passing of land from one person to the next.

PROTIP: It involves murder, murder and more murder.

This way of living, possibly. The notion of creating a "job" as opposed to finding a job? It's the future for a growing number of the population whether they want it to be that way or not.

Not sure that's a bad thing....$&%^ty day at the office, had to fire someone today. Long story, and the guy deserved it but it still sucked. I wouldn't mind creating my own job when I don't have to deal with stuff like this....at least when you milk a cow you don't have to apologize to her.

Good or bad, it just is. That's the (sorry in advance) paradigm shift we'll all have to get used to. Entrepreneurship is going to go in growing part from something someone wants to do to a have-to to survive.

Sorry about your day, having to fire someone, no matter how derseved, indeed sucks.

Yeah, that's the likely deal going forward. It has been absolutely awful for me this afternoon and I'm probably a bit too upset about it...but I looked at the websites of the two major firms I worked at and there isn't a single person who I worked with that is still employed in the department. It seems like everyone I know has had 3 jobs in the last 6 years, and even the people that are successful are struggling.

Not sure how far away you want to get from Cincy but I teach in Highland Co about 30-40 min from Cincy and the whole western and northern part of the county is farm after farm and of all different sizes. These are very nice farms and most of them are quite well off and successful. Good people.

Thanks for the tip. I have no problem being that far from Cincy.

Yea, this area is full of large successful farms. I know farming is the largest industry in Ross County.

120+ acres seems like a lot for what you are wanting to do. I understand you want grass fed beef (that' a whole different topic), but seems like the 50 acres would suffice for a homesteader (and I question if you really need that much).

It might be more than I would need but it's something I am used to working. Here is a rough outline of the property. As you can see more than half of it is wooded. I definitely want a portion of my property to be wooded for hunting, firewood, and potentially, as my grandma has had done a few times recently, logging.

Gotchya. With that much wooded, that number makes more sense.

If you're serious about this the best spot would probably be farm land up in NW Ohio

I have 150 acres, with large barns, fertile land, and a lot of wooded area, loaded with deer, bear, and wild hogs. Guess you're missing out.
