Seems like Bynum takes games off. I'd agree w you about the 20/20s if he didn't do that.

The Philadelphia 76ers and New Orleans Pelicans agreed upon a Jrue Holiday trade a few days before the draft, but it was dependent on Nerlens Noel, Anthony Bennett or Victor Oladipo remaining available.
Bennett and Oladipo went first and second to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Orlando Magic respectively.
Noel remained available at No. 6 when the Pelicans picked.
Makes the bennet pick for the Cavs look like less of a reach/surprise.

I think it was mostly a surprise because of all the Noel/Len smokescreen nonsense blown in our faces leading up to the draft.Commander of Awesome;1470310 wrote:

Looks like they're going to sign Odom too, and they've reached out to Josh Powell. Sasha wants back in the NBA as well.wildcats20;1470264 wrote:Jordan Farmar returning to the Lakers. Yay.

At least they will have a ton of cap room after next season.

It appears they are tanking already.
I wonder how Kobe feels about all this?

He doesn't hold back much on Twitter. He was bitching about them cutting ties with Artest or whatever his name is these days.Automatik;1470700 wrote:I wonder how Kobe feels about all this?

I actually like the move for the Cavs. I'm still salty that Bynum never played in Philly. Like other said, if he pulls the same crap he did in Philly and LA, big deal, it's not a long-term commitment and it's not our money being spent. It would only be a bad move if spending this cap room on him meant you lose out on someone else. That's not the case at all, so spend it.

Yeah, I had a feeling after he tweeted his feelings on their Game 1 playoff game and D'Antoni made the "just another fan" comment (or however he phrased it, that was the general meaning of his response) that things could get really entertaining in Laker-land. This offseason by them pretty much makes me want to start getting the popcorn ready and pay undivided attention to everything Kobe says and does for the next few months.friendfromlowry;1470734 wrote:He doesn't hold back much on Twitter. Howard concerned about Kobe "passing the torch."

Markazi said on Twitter last night after seeing Kobe he (personally) expects Kobe to be playing at the beginning of the season. Wouldn't surprise me, it would be 7 months into a 6-9 month recovery.
@ArashMarkazi Average recovery timetable for his injury is 6-9 months. Opening night is almost 7 months. Oh, and Kobe isn't "average."
@ArashMarkazi Kobe looked great when I saw him last week. Walking, lifting weight with ease. I'm betting he's back opening night.

Yeah he is supposed to be able to begin full drills in August. No doubt in my mind he'll be back for opening night.

Yeah but Kobe is f'n crazy when it comes to this stuff. He was the first NBA player to risk that knee platelet surgery in Germany right? This dude will do anything.Automatik;1470915 wrote:7 months to recover from that injury is f'n crazy.
Which puts the Lakers in an awkward position. I think they're better off tanking, but 1) Kobe won't let that happen and 2) Kobe isn't going to take a paycut on his next deal, handicapping their future moves.
That being said, it's the freaking Lakers and they'll find a way like they always do.

Even without tanking and better talent last season they barely made the playoffs. You think Kobe keeps them in the hunt and out of a lotto pick?lhslep134;1470945 wrote:Yeah but Kobe is f'n crazy when it comes to this stuff. 7 months isn't that crazy for someone like Kobe, I had two friends tear their achilles and they were 100% and back to playing in 9 months and they didn't have NBA level trainers working with them everyday.

It's a terrible injury in some cases and in others it's not as bad.
It does help to have the best trainers money can buy and unlimited time to focus on recovery. This isn't your average weekend warrior working 40-60 hours a week, who was in average shape prior to the injury, trying to rehab it.
I knew a guy who had a complete tear at 35 and he's never been the same. He's like 41 or 42 now and isn't close to what he was.
