When this first happened there were no charges filed . The police chief and the prosecuters office did not find any evidence of a crime . They originally found this to be self defense. What changed was the media got involved and all of a sudden trumped up charges are filed . All because of the racial issue. This is a slam dunk dismissal if we want to go by Florida law.

The way the law is written is not meant to allow someone to provoke another into a fight then shoot them over it, which is what Zimmerman did.

He's guilty as OJ and should go down for provoking a fight and then killing a kid. Case closed.

I wonder if that's intentional. They figure to be unlikely to win, but then they can say "well, we threw the book at him but the jury..." Basically a win-win for Zimmerman, the DA, and the race-baiters.

The problem is CNN ,HLN,and the main big 3 networks cover those people's rants and get the mobs riled up to manufacture air time . This whole entire case is way overblown .

Agreed. The OC at times has a very poor ability to think with an open mind. In general the discussion here follows the pattern of both sides taking opposing/differing positions that they will not move off of, and while trying to convince the other side how wrong they are simultaneously show a lack of listening understanding for the other sides position (this behavior is of course done by both sides). So basically you get two different sides just constantly repeating the same things over again no progression of the topic, but just a stalemate.

This isn't always the case, but frequently it is.

Also, I'm not trying to say I'm above this behavior as I have without a doubt done this.

You don't know that either of these sentences is true. You know about "evidence" that has been reported, which may or may not be true, complete, admissible, or refuted.

I lost any objectivity when he decided to get his gun, get out of the car, and follow Martin. His decision to play cop cost someone their life, and he deserves to pay for it. He isn't going to get a 2nd degree murder conviction, so unfortunately he probably walks.

It wasn't Zimmerman's place to get involved to begin with. He should have called the cops and left it at that. That is the #1 thing they teach you when you take any kind of concealed carry class. You are not a cop, you are not a vigilante, you should not get yourself involved unless you 100% know the situation.

George Zimmerman was a neighborhood watch volunteer who was looking for the unknown subject that he called the cops on. He wasn't playing cop.

Neighborhood watch volunteers aren't supposed to carry when on watch and are supposed to do nothing more than stay put and call the cops.
