Or maybe Minny and ttun are underrated (and playing AT IU is no picnic)...the B1G's a bitch, and parity has arrived in a big way. The B1G tourney should be crazy!

Probably some of both. B1G is just crazy tough, especially on the road. Speaking of Gophers, Pitino has been a very nice surprise. Kid can coach!

The JC player and the transfer from FIU have been pivotal to Minny's success. Mathieu really stepped up last night after Hollins went down with the ankle issue.Malik Smith is a really good outside shooter.Maurice Walker looks like he has shed some weight and gotten himself in great condition. The Gophers have some nice pieces and they now know they can win in the B1G 10. They are a dangerous team.

A lot will hinge on how long Andre Hollins is out for, if it's only a week or two they should be in good shape, if it's a month they'll be in a tougher spot. But, they do have a relatively "easy" (by B1G standards) stretch coming up - @ Neb, vs NW, @ Pur, vs IU - and just made it through what's probably their toughest four-game set of the season (@ MSU, vs OSU, @ Iowa, vs Wisc). They're a solid "in" team right now for the tournament with their resume. If they get to .500 in conference they'll be a lock.

Edit: Looks like ESPN is saying he's day-to-day, MRI is negative. I think he'll probably sit out the Nebraska game (it's Minnesota's only game in the next 9 days) and be ready to go for the next one.

I don't think Wisconsin is very good, honestly. If you have a team with quick guards or wings, they can't guard you. No wonder Bo is trying to run so much more this year, that team can't stop anyone in the half court. Finally white, unathletic players are catching up to them lol

Wisky's PG only fits one of those criteria

I just saw that Branden Dawson is out 4-5 weeks. He broke his hand on a table while watching film.

This hurts--any idea when Payne is due to return?

Izzo was saying that Payne could possibly play this weekend vs Michigan. But it would be one of the toughest decisions he will have to make. Payne also has asmtha. And he hasn't practiced at all lately. So he would/will have very little stamina. To me, its doubtful he plays this weekend. They say his injury will only be healed with extended time off. So he will never bee 100% this season. Could be hit and miss on a weekly basis.

He'll probably play 33 minutes and score 30 points, and everyone will hype him up as a hero. Izzo will have saved the day again.

Dawson out as well with a broken hand. Also pretty cool to see Nigel Hayes highlighted on the Journey this week

Michigan is really getting it together. What a stretch of wins!

They look much better offensively without McGary.

That's hard to say really. The only minutes he had this year were injured, and when the team was trying to figure itself out. I doubt they'd be worse if Mitch was playing and healthy.

ttun playing lights out right now, and all things staying the same, is a matchup nightmare for the Buckeyes--especially that frickin' Canadian...2/11 could be ugly.

It's a given in life that OSU will always play its best against Michigan.

Yeah, like last year when OSU handed UM their first loss. I was so pissed because it just HAD to be OSU. ;)
