The officiating certainly seemed to favor MSU tonight, but Iowa didn't deserve to win. The Hawkeyes went the final 10 minutes of regulation without converting a basket. That's appalling for a team as good as Iowa playing at home.

A great win for the Spartans down two significant starters.

That foul by Gary Harris was an egregious lapse in judgement for somebody of his talent. Really, really poor play.

But the Spartans escape.

The rest of the 39:59 that's a foul.

Some questionable officiating for sure. But Iowa lost that game themselves

Makes me wonder about Iowa.43 free throw attempts to 20 for MSU and 5-6 of MSU's were intentional fouls on Iowa. Two starters out and a 9 point night out of Gary Harris. Iowa blew a golden opportunity.

Going 0-for-25 over the last 15 minutes of the game + overtime will hurt your chances of winning. Iowa had about a 5 or 6-point lead before that drought began. Maybe the worst finish to a game I've ever seen from any team ever.

Per the main Rivals board, since 2008, Iowa is 0 for 32 on shots in the last possession to either tie or win a game. That's pretty remarkable.

I think it's remarkable that there's a stat for that :o

32 attempts in 6+ seasons is also an indicator of a team who really hasn't been that competitive. Unfortunately for Iowa, last night was their first game they can really say they "blew." Everything favored them. They got MSU about the absolute best time...and lost, at home.

I'm sure that whatever network is "lucky" enough to have the OSU-Wisky game Saturday is just thrilled with how both teams have plummeted from top 5 to "don't deserve ranked" over the past few weeks.

Indiana with a HUGE game Sunday versus Michigan. But for it to even matter, they gotta beat Nebraska on the road tonight. Huskers favored by 2.

Nebraska is a weird team. They're not good at all, but at home, they've become this juggernaut for some reason. I mean, I understand the whole deal about it being tougher to win on the road, but them being as good as they are at home compared to the overall product just seems uncanny.

It is weird. Then again, PSU and NW are pretty terrible also, and have been significantly better in conference play then they were in OOC play. Same as Nebraska. Weird for the bottom 3 to be doing that in the same season.

You could say that about Michigan, too. They looked to be a mediocre team that just lost one of their top players entering conference play. And now they're the only unbeaten team in conference play. Seems like half the teams in the B1G are the opposite in conference action than they were beforehand, which is totally bizarre.

B1G conference play has been screwy this year.

In addition to being a total bitch, Crean just isn't a very good coach. Been saying it since Indiana hired him. Totally overrated at Marquette. 9 seasons there. D-Wade carried him to the final 4 once, and aside from that? 1 year with no postseason, 3 NIT, 3 first round losses, 1 second round loss.

Got the benefit of 3 full rebuilding seasons at IU, then there was the Syracuse game last year (and this year), where he looked like he had no idea they would play a 2-3 zone.

Just don't see Indiana ever being a national power under him.

I dislike IU, but I dislike Crean even more. I agree with you. Last year he had the talent and it was a wide open year. It's the same thing that STILL haunts me about Calipari and UK in 2011. They were a completely lackluster performance against UConn from winning a title that year. Same with Ohio State. If the Buckeyes would've beaten UK, they easily win that title...
