Yeah.....teams dont turn down NIT normally, but many do turn down the CBI and whatever that other one was.

Wright State said they would likely turn down the CBI and other tournaments as well. They accepted a few years ago when they had a very young roster and thought it would be good experience for the young players, but this year apparently they have a good # seniors and feel it wouldnt be worth it.


PRetty embarassing to not even get a NIT invite, but hopefully it helps them alter things in the future.

I know BK had the two cupcake classics they hosted, but I think they usually had a better NC schedule than Crean. Now it seems like he counts on the ACC/BIg 10 challenge game to be their only good pre B10 matchup most years. This year they did the 2k tournament and played UCONN, but man they played some very awful teams.

I know OSU has gotten the same backlash from the media/fans as well.

The pissing match with UK sucks, that game needs to be played.

One could write a dissertation about Maryland, how a program with financial backing (Kevin Plank), that is in such financial disaster territory is truly amazing - it has a lot to do with out of control spending and no controls at all. The B1G didn't need either, but Rutgers and Maryland needed them.
